I dont know who the person is, but if they are buying in to the tournament, then its completely fine. Why do you think its unfair? If someone is good enough to win a ticket in one of these satellites they will do so anyway.

there are plenty of professional poker players that play satellites all the time even though they have the ticket already.
fields are generally softer, and if you are good at closing out a tourney, they are great value because the prize distribution is top heavy.

Harps I know who you mean and I know it can seem unfair as others should be given a shot at the ticket, however there is no rule against it and in fact it is quite common to all satellites (MQF, Online Champs, WSOP etc.) People just seem to back themselves to win outright and claim the whole prizepool. I usually play the MQF sat every day for two reasons:
a.) There is an overlay.
b.) I need to win 1 in 10 to break even and I have won more than that, so it's a profitable proposition for me to play these repeatedly.

So in that case if you only win it once can you cash out on it ? Instead of playing in the M.Q.F ?

Yep. You get it as cash in your account if you are already regged.

But if you haven't won a seat before .can you de-register & get the cash ?

No. You only get cash back if you
are regged already. If you win a satellite and are not regged, then you cannot unreg and get the cash.
You can however use your bankroll to reg before the satellite. This way if you win you will get cash back and then you can unreg from the tourney as you have used your own cash to buy-in.

depends on which site. on 888 you cant
i am probably a good example of this. when i won my GF ticket, i actually won a MQF seat before that, on the same night.
but i can't unregister from the MQF.
(i was prolly going to play it anyway, but now i have to play it)
