Recent issues with 888PL Home Games and associated promotion

Postby Garth Kay » Tue Apr 19, 2011 7:19 pm

As many of you are aware the recent online poker community was shocked to hear of the indictment of several of the major providers. In no way has this affected activities on 888Poker, and instead we see some steady growth and your funds and playing will continue to remain safe and entertaining.

However we have had some recent issues with the online portion of our business and I would like to address these now.

First off we have recently introduced some Pot Limit Omaha games to the Home Game fixture. One is a freeroll and the other has a $2.20 buy in; both of these events were advertised as a 5x Points multiplier event. This was obviously a miscommunication to 888Poker and should only have a 1x point multiplier attached. I know this has caused some confusion amongst players and I would like to apologise for this,

888Poker recently ran a deposit bonus where players would receive a hoody for a predetermined amount. Some players have yet to receive their voucher for a hoody, if you are one of these players please send your username, date and time of deposit and deposit amount to info@888pl.com.au

We have been trying to update the structures for the Tuesday and Thursday deepstack but unfortunately 888 have been unable to process these changes. At this time the proposed changes will be reduce the buy in to $11, start at 9pm AEST, remove the minimum player restriction and guarantee this event at $300.

Finally we have had to adjust the way players are paid via the Dream Team Finals. From now on (and for the past event) all players will receive the total dollar value for prizes directly into their 888Poker accounts. From there players are free to withdraw these funds and buy casino entries through 888PL or keep the funds as cash prizes. I apologise unreservedly for this last minute change and the inconvenience caused by this.

We hope to rectify the above issues over the coming weeks and apologise for any inconvenience caused or negative experiences.

Thank you for continuing to support the 888Poker League and all the best on the virtual felt.

Regards,
Garth Kay

Hi Garth
sounds good, much more civilized time. Will it still have 10x multiplier attached to it?

I will leave that one to Glyn, he will be communicating new points multipliers later today.

I am sure I saw last night that there was a 10 point multiplier on this. Starting time still way too late, I got knocked out 7th at about 12:40am (I think) and there was still plenty of poker left to be had on final table.
I thought I saw that the Tues and Thurs games were reverting back to 9pm starts. Is this going to happen?

Hi,

Both Deepstack events have a 10x Multiplier and do indeed begin at 22:15. I am aware that this is a late start time, and this will be rectified shortly to a new start time of 9pm.

I expect this change to come into place beginning next week.

If you have any questions all regarding this please don't hesitate to contact me at glyn@fullhousegroup.com.au

Hi All,

The Tuesday and Thursday Deepstack games are now running at 9pm as of tonight.

It is an $11 buy in so I hope to see plenty of runners!
