Cheers guys. Ya delighted.

Super fact structure towards the end so was shipping 75% of hands on the FT and won 3 40/60's to win it but was happy with how I played.

It was deep stacked for about 7 levels with a 20,000 start stack and 20 min blinds that went down to 15 mins

Quick question can somebody please help. I know that I have read before that these tickets cannot be sold or transferred to another player but I cannot find where I read it. My son won a seat last night and now is getting a lot of calls from people who want to buy it from him. I told him before he went that if he won he could not sell the ticket he would have to play if he won but now , with all the people who are telling him I am wrong, he thinks I am making it up. Can someone confirm for me that for the first ticket you cannot sell or transfer them but if you win subsequent tickets you can.

Here's the quick facts you need to know about The Main Event.

Only qualified players will be eligible to play - no buy ins

http://www.themaineventpoker.com.au/mai ... ation/faqs

4.Further, THE MAIN EVENT has the following conditions that must be met, namely:

d.MAIN EVENT entry tickets have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money or its worth;
e.Any APL/888PL player that gains entry into THE MAIN EVENT cannot transfer his or her winning entry ticket to another APL/888PL member, unless this player has won more than one MAIN EVENT ticket in any qualifying period (6 months before the event). The APL/888PL player seeking to receive THE MAIN EVENT ticket (i.e. the transferee) must have played at least ten (10) live APL/888PL games during the relevant qualification period in order to be eligible to receive THE MAIN EVENT ticket. To legitimise transfer, you must contact Full House Group on 03 9644 1600;

Thank you so much Bacon I knew the information was there just could not find it. I cannot believe that after winning the tournament he has decided he does not want to play now. I told both of my sons that if they won they would have to play in the Main event and that if they thought they did not want to play in it to save their $60 and let someone who wanted to play win it. Oh well I will just have to win a ticket now so I can take him :lol:

I have an idea regarding the next Main Event in August/September. I think it would be a good idea to open up direct buyins, based on the following:
- Direct Buyin is available to any player who has played 80 888pl/APL games in the 6 month qualifying period.

This isn't just because I tried my guts out only to bubble a ticket to the first Main Event 4 times, but an idea that rewards loyal league players, and in fact gives an incentive for players to play in venue more frequently/consistantly. It also gives you a comeback when people ask "why can't we buy-in direcctly?", you can say, "just play 80 games for the qualifying period and you can"....

To everyone lucky enough to have a ticket into the Main Event, good luck, have fun. I am sure it will be an amazing experience.

ps., It would be awesome if we were able to get a couple more Sit'n'go satellites going in SA in the next couple of weeks, I am sure they would be very popular.....

:cry:

I think the hard part is the fact that they are apparently going to have 500+ runners already without direct buyins, so unless they want to go to start holding multiple day ones i dont think that is going to work

the SNG satellites are an awesome idea though, i reckon at certain venues they should be held year round if they get enough numbers

Even though I've won a couple of Main Event seats :o , I agree with you JMACK, direct buy-in should be allowed BUT with conditions as you mentioned.

I propose the following conditions:

- Direct buy-in only allowed a week or two before Main Event (subject to seats still being available).

- Must have played min 25 games over 6 months period (Avg 1 game per week).

- Must have played in at least 50% of the Main Event Satellites in their region or city.

I think it's a win win for everyone if these conditions are met.

Thoughts? (especially from management).
