The mind boggles as to why we would remove these Sit and Go's as a method of qualifying. With the ordinary amount of tickets on offer for SA players i thought this was a good idea to increase our numbers at the Main Event.. that is all

if you do it for one state, you would have to do it for all states. proportionally the representation from each state would stay the same.

The event will then lose that exclusive feel, a person. who has battled through a state final, vs a player that had to battle through a SNG.

Also, I would love to be just there even if it is at the side events. I know a lot of people that are playing, and jealous as I am that I have no chance to play until I move, I still think it would be am awesome weekend.

here is an idea that might take a bit of organising, but might be worth having.

what about, 6 monthly, you had a $500 direct buyin event somewhere in australia as well? you could still limit it to 200-500 runners, have no or few satellites, but it is direct buyin only? The only criteria is that you have to be an 888pl member to enter.

That way, you could have an event that people might still want to travel for, but can access it if they want. You could cap the amount of runners, and if it sells out, so be it.

If it wasn't ran as a separate comp, you could possibly even have it as part of the main event weekend. maybe on the saturday night or even the sunday you could have the FHG Poker classic and it be a $500 buyin event, 10k start stack, single day. possibly saturday night you could play down to a final table and then have the final table come back on the sunday as well as the Main Event.

it would replace the teams event, or possibly run in conjunction with it.
just an idea, and it would make it worth travelling to melbourne or whevever even if you didnt have a main event ticket. the side events as they stand are really nice, but you arent going to travel specifically for them, wheras for a $500 buyin you might.

I understand to an extent Brett but lets not get too carried away with the level of play at State Finals...weve all been there..If you have 10 players chucking in 120 of their hard earned in to a 1 in 10 chance of winning the play is pretty solid.
This is by no means a easy ride into the Main Event..Just ask JMack..and if the winner has qualified by playing the required games the loyalty is there.The Majority of the players in these sit & gos are high volume players and all deserve a fair suck of the sav...Cheers Jess

This is by no means a easy ride into the Main Event..Just ask JMack..and if the winner has qualified by playing the required games the loyalty is there.The Majority of the players in these sit & gos are high volume players and all deserve a fair suck of the sav...Cheers Jess

How do you define someone as a high volume player?

Truth be told i would rather see as benny the cunt suggested a 120 or 240 where 1 in 10 win a seat or 1 in 5 than sit n gos. I personally see them (the sngs) as an easy way to get into the main event, i can play 10 120 sit n go's to "qualify" and am pretty certain of getting a seat.

That's assuming there are 10 to play. I think there were only ever 4 or 5 of these that got up. Even our $120 MTT @ Super Saturdays failed to generate 2 tickets. It just seems the demand isn't that great in SA, that's why we need all the events we can to be able to qualify.....
