A player at brahma Lodge pub on Saturday (a staff member at BLSC) told me "why NPL was closed down" It is not my place to write the "hes say" on this fourm tho.
They also informed me, Wednesday was chossen because it was the best day, not to effect the sports, and wouldn't take players away from indoor cricket.
I can comfrim they now run 3 nights a week with APL.

Re: Sad to see BRAHMA LODGE SPORTS CENTRE HAS GONE
Competition is everywhere. Why, in a few weeks a service station will be opening JUST across the road from another. Both are expected to be dropping prices to compete, but do you think if one starts to get less revenue, they'll threaten to close up shop? No, and if they did, nobody would care, they'd continue to go to the other servo.
AK, not having a go but are these service stations going to be owned by the same company? Caltex vs BP is competition, Caltex vs Caltex is just a poor business decision.
Bob, you are very right, it is unfortunate to see Brahma indoor close and it would have been great to have venues in the area that suited everyones needs but unfortunately that just couldn't be made to work. It was a shame that Tony & Joe didn't want to give the day change a go but in the end they did what they thought was right for their business....as did we.
Now Bacon, what would you like to see changed regarding the stamping policy. Currently it is $3 per stamp. I understand that there was some nitpicking on stamps in the past when the price was $5.90 etc but that seems to have been addressed. What else would you like to see that would make it better?
Any thoughts or feeling gladly accepted.
Cheers guys,
Tim.

Tim, when I first went there, I thought $3 per stamp was awesome. And it is alright when you think that's about $24 for both cards.
But, I'm buying 2 Bundys & cokes ($4.50 each, from memory) at a time cos I get 3 stamps, rather than individually for 1 stamp. Most other places are giving 2 per spirit. I don't have 2 drink holders for both drinks. I dunno how to fix that though. Do they allow pre-purchasing?

Hey Tim. The servo already open is Mobil while the one opening across the road is going to be one of those Woolworths ones. So clearly competitor vs competitor.
Are Brahma and Gardens close to one another, say, within 10 minutes? Losing runners to another venue... its gonna happen in the metro regions, where things are so competitive. And even so, Gardens are still hitting the high 80s, a very respectable number, we never see that down here, week in week out, in Gawler/Barossa.

Fair. You're obviously going to stick with the venue that makes more money - I would, too. But really, Parafield moaning like that... grow up. So you lost 5 or so runners to Brahma - work out ways to get them back! Offer more prizes, cheaper stamps, etc.

Funny thing is, Bridgeway used to run on a Wednesay, and it's not now (I don't think).
So PG now have a monopoly on the area.. could make interesting reading on the numbers.
I don't begrudge PG wanting to maintain their position as one of the best venues. I don't know what else they can provide.
Bob, it's all your fault, by the way... they missed serving your 1/2 brandies, and went investigating where you went.

There are ways to go about it, though.

Well to put it bluntly, they can Kiss my A**
Seriously Ron, by "buying you off" are you suggesting there are too many prizes?
Surely you can see why we try to offer up the best prizes all the time in the NPL? We don't want you guys playing for the dark side, and with Brahama Indoor deciding to persue another avenue....well, best to quote AK again.

Put it this way
There wasn't an actual risk - there was a potential risk. And they reacted.
