Common.

I really hope reacting like Parafield did (if they did, hearsay, people! ;)) isn't "common."

I'm not saying how they reacted is common - but reacting in general is.

It could be for a lot of other reasons too.

Des I'm sure by now you should know me a little better than to be a rumour monger. I can assure you that I gathered my facts before thinking of posting something of this nature.

I had spent quite some time conversing with the owners each night trying to help them make it a better venue. I heard there was a rumour regarding the Gardens and the Brahma as per my previous post.

I did ask the right people to confirm or deny if the rumour was true and to my surprise the owners at the time had no knowledge of the up and coming switch. The TD's I had spoken too were not in the habit of starting any rumours so I assumed they were telling the truth.

I then decided to pay more attention to the people who were there and as said previously I didn't think there were that many from the Gardens to cause a problem.

The NPL website still had them as a new venue and it was still showing as a Wednesday night venue.

However that got changed to a Tuesday night venue for the new season and it was still showing as a new venue.

I took another look on the NPL site today and they are gone!!!!!!!!!!

I did my very best to help make the Brahma a great NPL venue. I was surprised that they had no prior knowledge of the changes other than someone called Tim was coming to see them.

Hey it's done and dusted now Des but please don't assume I don't gather my facts.

Take a look at Pooraka's figures for last night. At a guess I'd say it is made up from those who were playing at the other now defunct NPL venues. And maybe the Gardens will pick some of those guys and gals up tonite too.

The incentives are there so it should be a good night.

Competition is everywhere. Why, in a few weeks a service station will be opening JUST across the road from another. Both are expected to be dropping prices to compete, but do you think if one starts to get less revenue, they'll threaten to close up shop? No, and if they did, nobody would care, they'd continue to go to the other servo.

AK, not having a go but are these service stations going to be owned by the same company? Caltex vs BP is competition, Caltex vs Caltex is just a poor business decision.

Bob, you are very right, it is unfortunate to see Brahma indoor close and it would have been great to have venues in the area that suited everyones needs but unfortunately that just couldn't be made to work. It was a shame that Tony & Joe didn't want to give the day change a go but in the end they did what they thought was right for their business....as did we.

Now Bacon, what would you like to see changed regarding the stamping policy. Currently it is $3 per stamp. I understand that there was some nitpicking on stamps in the past when the price was $5.90 etc but that seems to have been addressed. What else would you like to see that would make it better?

Any thoughts or feeling gladly accepted.

Cheers guys,

Tim.

Thanks for your reply on here Tim. As you know my heart has always been with the Gardens and I was surprised to hear what was happening.

I'm so glad you have confirmend what I was saying as "NOT BEING RUMOURS" for Des's sake.

I hope he realises that I'm not a wanka, my words not his and that I do gather my facts as best I can.

See you tonight and lets hope you got my email regarding "rewarding a first out loser" with a chip set. Maybe a book on how to play would be better, LOL.

So PG now have a monopoly on the area.. could make interesting reading on the numbers.

I don't begrudge PG wanting to maintain their position as one of the best venues. I don't know what else they can provide.

Bob, it's all your fault, by the way... they missed serving your 1/2 brandies, and went investigating where you went.

I did upgrade to fulls now that I'm a pisspot like the rest of you guys LOL

Seriously Bob,

I'm never going to post in one of your threads again mate. You take everything to heart and think I'm having a go. I know you are a passionate bloke, and thats great. But sometimes you just gotta take a step back and try to understand what someone is saying.

I never called you a rumour monger. All you put forward was the version of the story that you were told. A lot of "rumours" are started by people only hearing one side of the facts. Not the complete story.

Bob, I was agreeing that is was a shame to see Brahma go. While PGCC was reacting to potential business that may have been lost, there were other reasons why this had to occur. These issues are dealt with by NPL operations and should not and will not be discussed on a public forum. I'm sure you understand.

Mate, I was the Operator for Brahma Indoor & with them closing it hurts me also. Not something I wanted to happen but it was unfortunately unavoidable.
