OMG everyone has to try the famous Captain Proud Burger(a home made beef Pattie filled with herbs and spices and finger-lickin' flavor)
They also run a losers table to keep you playing while cruising and supply a first prize. Bar Drinks are half price during happy hour.(which runs longer than a hour.)

Well a whole bunch of us went down last night. Very enjoyable.

Will follow with a decent write up shortly - there were a few cameras down there too, so there should be some pics to put up too.

Hi to everyone,
Congratulations to Nathan (Mini Bats)1st and Xtal 2nd at last nights game on the paddle boat. Just a reminder that this friday night Captain Proud Paddle Boat has put a bounty of $50.00 cash on our No 1 player old-man daryl (The River Rat) 8-) so get there and see what you can do to take the prize. I have also put up $20.00 for the first show of quads jack and higher for this friday night. Lots of players taking pictures last night so lets see them get up on the forum so others can see what there missing out on. Hope to see you all back this Friday and Sunday. This Sunday is a 11:30 reg and 12:30 start. As we are playing with the times on sudays let me know if you would prefer the sunday games to remain in the 11:30 reg time or prefer the later games being 6:30 reg. we then will try to get a standard time in August around what most people prefer.

Captain Proud Paddlesteamer
Wharf Road
Murray Bridge,5253 SA

Friday: 6:30 for 7:30
Sunday:variable
TD: Andre in my case, tho Lincoln usually?

GETTING THERE/PARKING: An hours drive from Adelaide, I'd prefer the Sunday to run during the afternoon - late home. Finding the venue was easier than expected, with plenty of parking. No idea how secure it is however as it seemed fairly desolate - fine during the day i'd image.

THE BOAT/PLAYING AREA: Nice boat (tho I'm no expert!), plenty of spots to sight see from - even at night there were some great sights (birds mainly). The playing area was excellent with plenty of room, tho there was a bit of a lean from time to time  Cozy enough and was not cold inside at all (outside at night was an entirely different matter tho!)

FOOD/DRINKS/STAMPING: The Proud Burger was damn fine (pineapple!), and came in at only $10.50 (I could be out here by a dollar tho). There were decent sized hotdogs goings around too - can't recall the price. 3 stamps for the burger, no idea for the hotdog. Drinks were fairly standard, $6.50 for a Pale Ale, no idea for spirits. All recieved 2 stamps.

With your 1 complimentary stamp for boarding ($10), 3 for the meal ($10.50) and 2 drinks ($13), stamping up was on the pricey side. HOWEVER, as mentioned previously in this thread, drinks were half price once all cards had been handed in on the way back! Great for those not driving - and lets face it, for most of us, MB is far enough away you'll be organising a driver ;) This is a day/evening out, rather than just a regular event for the city folk.

SERVICE: Good. Table service to boot :D

CAPTAIN: Greig was extremely helpful/friendly and deserves a special mention for his fondness of the sound of his own voice on the PA

PEOPLE: There was only one local on my table to start with, an affable enough bloke so that was all good. The next local they brought gave me a horrible bad beat so I won't go there. We were there with a large group (approx 15), and I think we doubled the regular numbers.

OVERALL: Well worth the trip. I wouldn't do it again on a Sunday night personally, however a Friday night would be great, and Sunday afternoons would be spectacular. Nights during summer will also be special I'd imagine.

I forgot my camera, and this one didn't seem to have a very good flash, so no shots of the outdoor eating area or other socialising areas
