St Francis Hotel - Out South

We have several mentions about venues on these forums, but I wanted to put one in regards to St Francis because they seem to be a venue that listens and gives a red hot go to doing the right thing by NPL players.

So here goes:

Location:
14 Bridge Street
Reynella,5161 SA

Parking:
There is HEAPS of room for parking, the parking lot is very well lit allowing for safety.

Days
Tuesdays - 6:30pm sign in
Thursdays - 6:30pm sign in

Poker area:
We have a room that doesn't have heaps of foot traffic, so it makes for a fantastic atmosphere. There is HEAPS of room, so we are not all squashed in, shoulder to shoulder...
The only downside is it can be a little noisy when people are having a fun night. But having said that it adds to the atmosphere.
We have a separate bar area so you get served very quickly and the bar staff are so friendly and have tonnes of personality!

Meals:
Upscale
Meals are nice, but not pub quality.
Meaning they are not huge meals, they are nice meals served in a nice way.
If you want a nice meal out, try them, but don't go hungry looking to fill up.

HOWEVER...
This is where I believe they are evolving to accomodate players.

Lastnight when we went in, they had new signs up Schnitty and pint deal for $12.50
PLUS 4 stamps.

NOW.. this is the other upside to this venue..

Stamps:
To be honest, I think they offer the same as all other places in regards to 2 stamps per spirits, beer.. etc
BUT...
NON DRINKERS.. they offer 2 stamps per can of soft drink or per pot of coke.
This venue promotes responsible drinking and is one of the only venues I play at that is fair in regards to non drinkers.

So having said that, I get stamped up for buying 4 cans of softdrink, 2 of which can go home with me.

As a nondrinker I think that is VERY fair

Prizes:
Usual NPL prize packs are on offer.
1st place get a $50.00 venue voucher.
2nd place get a $25.00 venue voucer.

Bounty prize:
A bottle of Hardys wine.

Conclusion:
As a first review I will have left HEAPS of information out, so please feel free to ask anything, I will do the best to answer any and all.

Thanks for reading.

Good to see another review! Love your work Cazz.

I can't help but laugh though becuase you even asked me on msn how to spell 'schooner' and you STILL called it a pot :P

Have you by chance got any pics of the venue? Would love to see some of the playing area and maybe the menu too?

Oh... and any hot chicks that happen to be wandering past... thanks :P
