To the Waikerie Boys - I'm doing my bi-annual venue run as a player and it's your turn on Tuesday.

I've been having the coldest run of cards EVER this week. My ego has been shrunk to the size of a pea!

I've been SMASHING it on-line, but live cards has been utter BS.

Results so-far.

BARMERA tonight - played 2 hands up until 2nd break!
1st all-in= split pot
2nd all-in busted!
BEST HAND - AQ off
POCKETS - 0

LAMEROO tuesday - played 2 hands up until 2nd break!
- 1st all-in after break= busted!
- BEST HAND - AQ off / 88
- POCKETS - 1

RENMARK SPORTING CLUB sunday

- Final table, on button, 1st hand (2nd in chips)
Blinds 3000-6000, there's an all-in for 12000 mid position.

I look down and see AA

YESSSSS!!!

"I'm ALL-IN" for 20k
Small- blind (chip leader with 29k Jenny Hambi) calls my all-in. Blinds fold.

Dom in mid position shows 22
Jenny shows JJ

I smugly turn over the bullets to raptuous cheering.

FLOP brings 5-2-7

"thats ok, i've still got the side pot........"

TURN is a J
RIVER says "no Todd, you don't get no miracle today, bye-bye!"

So thats been my week.

I'm working the Renmark Club 2moro, and probably play Berri on Friday.

I'll see you guys on Tuesday next week.

I've only played Waikerie once, and was DISTGUSTED, after my QQ got busted by Robert Waye's K-3 off .

I went allin UTG pre-flop for $4800 and only he called. Blinds were 500-1000 and he only JUST had me covered with 5500 - Go figure! :D

I hope the cards warm up a bit for me then by Tuesday. (and I hope I can outlast Nicole for a change!)

Hope to see you guys there!

Bring it on toddy, lookfoward to it.

as for your queens getting smashed by a king, that is a normal acceptable play down here at waikerie, The State Capital of the Calling stations and MONGO suckouts.

I have started playing furhter a feild in recent weeks including at the forum freeroll and paradise gardens and this has only added to my suspisons that the general poker playing public that attends waikerie is a fairly poor one. Sure there is some good players but they are severly out weighed by the king 3 or indeed Q 6 starting hand players that dominate this venue.

I have come to realise that you never try to buy a pot down here because you will ALWAYS get called, so the only style that works is to wait untill you have the nuts and get paid big. Never get all your money into a pot either down here without the nuts or you will be going home early,
I realise this is a fairly defensive style but is is effective against these players.

I will fully backup Krunchies comments, thats why there are a core of players who play together each week at least the standard of play is better.

If there is a spare seat next tuesday you may or may not get a invitation to join us. ha ha ha.

We can blame Swannie and Reece for giving Waikerie the Mongo name.

The quote below is part of a post in another thread.

At one stage I was over playing at my local venue it wasnt fun playing lotto and bingo players, muppetts and mongoes.

Now it enjoyable I play with same group of blokes that are what I consider the best or better player at the venue, the usual line up is

Maccatak11 his performance this season speaks for it self
Krunchie a very tight player
Fred Mr couple a hundred
Demo was a tight player now as loose as a used condom
Nigel a solid player his biggest claim to fame all 1st hand and out at his 1st state final.
Robbie he the wild card
Ed he's a hard read for me, head to head we would be 50/50.

If someones away then we have players like
Putty his game has improved out of sight but some of the locals can get into his head
Mega Tilt his name says it all.

If I play up river I tend to try and sit with the better players, I realily enjoy my visits to Adelaide and playing new venues also putting faces to forum names.

My freeroll and Parafield Gardens first impressions still hold.---> Krunchie is a Gun.

Todd and his partner came and played at Waikerie last night it was amixed result all round, Nichole managed to make final table and Todd (pause) well umm err, we had arranged fot Toddy to sit at our a team table, but fate stepped in and played him an ugly hand.

We were short on runners so it was decided to pay tables of 7, unfortunatly Todd was the only player not seated so he was relocated. he was unlucky to sit at a table that a majority of players are in every hand chasing down everything.

Todd made his exit before the first break, bugger

All I'm gonna say is, my opinion of Waikerie hasn't changed one bit!
