Postby mr_niceguy_1979 » Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:34 pm

I heard a rumour last night that Royal Hotel (Kent Town) is running a late session on Thursday's? Can anyone confirm this?

If it was, it's be in competition with the Hackney up the road.

Yeah, big competition with the Hackney, they are like 2 minutes apart and both within 5 minutes drive from my house! :)

Just checked NPL website and The Royal Hotel has been listed as an event on THU, 1030 rego, 1130 start

Hmm, that's odd. I don't know how well Hackney does, but why bother starting an NPL game at the same time as one 2 minutes away? They'll be fighting for players every week.

Nope - Hackey has been taken down just now from the main site. They said it just wasn't making the right sort of $$.

They did still have their signage out the front this morning, which did give me some hope they'd changed their minds, but not to be :-(

I do kind of feel guiltily for not doing a write up on here - it is my local!

However I will be at the Royal late game this evening - fresh leader board and all that. I might make state finals from the Hackney, but that relies on 3 people above me maintaining their positions in the state top 50!

Has the Royal been reviewed on here for their other game? I'll try and grab some photos tonight as I like having a late game in my area. I'll consider it some sort of pennance for not doing one for the Hackey.

Isn't the Hotel Royal at Torrensville as opposed to the Royal Hotel at Kent Town?

Yeah, Royal Hotel is Kent Town, and is the one with the late game tonight.

Hotel Royal has one normal time Tuesyday evening I think?
