Favourite Venue and Why

Postby Goose » Thu Oct 25, 2007 4:09 pm

Ok Girls the first season has gone and now we are into the 2nd

By now most of us have been to a few venues
So what is your favourite :?:
Do they have drink specials :?:
Meal Deals etc :?:
Free nibbles etc :?:
Are you made to feel welcome :?:
What are venues doing to attract the punters :?:
Value when stamping up etc :?:
Venue prizes etc :?:
Roomy or cramped :?:
Monthly or season bonus :?:

My favourites at the moment are;

Parafield Gdns Community Club
Great bar prices (cheaper than pubs)
Family and fun atmosphere
Plenty of room
Good value when stamping up
$10 to become a member and save even more
Winner receives a poker chip set ++

Pooraka Football Club
Fantastic Bar Prices
Fantastic value when stamping up
Fun and crazy atmosphere
Sandwiches during the break if the Poker Nerd (Nathan) has left any
Great prizes of beer, wine novelties etc
SUPPORT VENUES THAT SUPPORT THE PUNTERS

I would really like to see some more response to this topic. If everyone could chime in with their two cents that would be great. I went down to the Watermark, in Glenelg, last night for dinner. I must say I was impressed with the setup and layout. Table service all night, from what I could see, and snacks for players at the breaks. First class venue as well.

What David said :)

Have been toying with the idea of running a poll with just what seem to be the most popular venues listed, can only have 10 lines in the poll.

Might split it into Regions tho as it's probably a fairer result anyway. It's not like those that normally play at Woodcroft would have half a clue what Pooraka FC is like for instance.

Was also going to wait till we got a few more players signed up from regions other than the NE :)

Lift your game southeners :)
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

The Bremen is my fav venue - it's my worst as far as points go, but it is very friendly.

They always have nibbles at the first break. Usually pies, pasties &
sausage rolls or dim sims, spring rolls and samosas.

The bar staff are fantastic with Vicki-Lee being very popular.
They stamp decently and the meals are cheap and reasonable.

An old country style pub. No airs or graces, just down to earth and easy going.

Havn't come across any bad sports or tempers and would like to keep it that way please.

The Highlander is my fave venue - mostly because it's within crawling distance of home. Pretty good pub, and nice to have the tournament away from it all in the upstairs area.

Been going to the Modbury of late, and I must say it is VERY cramped...

Oakden Central
Hosted at a newly developed venue.
Great ambience.
Great TD.
Very spacious.
Use only 10 seater tables.
Friendly staff.
Generous with stamps. (2 stamps for pint of light, for whoever drinks that stuff)
The players are fun people.

Love it!
