NE boys come down to the Kingy

Well tonight was fun.

BigPete33 (he really is big, like 8ft or something :P), Scott, Ondie's dad ("We call him Chipzilla") and Ondie's girlfriend (I forget her name, sorry) came down to the Kingsford tonight. Or, as Bruce would say, crossed the border (minus Ondie, apparently he was at a work thing :()

I managed to snag a seat in between Pete and Scott (lucky me :P) and it was a good time. Good chat, good laughs, good cards (I love pocket Qs). Then I got moved away and I was out first hand on my new table.

And I was so pissed, plus my ride was leaving, so I didn't get to say goodbye to the NE crew. Sorry for that, cos you all seemed really nice and welcoming (especially to someone that's been so... controversial on the forums :P).

But.

You must come down again, and bring Ondie, luke, Des, Bob and whoever else you want next time. Meeting forum members outside of here and having a poker game is always good fun, and its times like tonight that show us what a good job David and the rest of the crew are doing here.

I really enjoyed the trip to the Kingy, stamp policy is mental (that's good by the way) and it's always nice to meet some new players and have a chinwag. Everyone is nice and friendly (as you'd expect in the 'country') and yes the beer was nice and cold :P

I will definitely be heading up north again for a return visit and having discussed this very matter with Scott I'm positive he will be returning also. I'd be surprised if Ondie and Des etc don't come with next time. Matty is a great host (and Shannon is awesome even though she's from the moon) and I'm very much looking forward to my next visit.

Cheers for having us guys!

I'll use one word to sum up the kingsford as a venue to be at - AWESOME. First off, as Pete said, the stamp system actually makes you want to spend more money. Yes, we were fully stamped up after our first drink, but this didn't result in a "well i'm stamped up, no need to give them any more cash" attitude; rather we(I, sorry Pete but it was on my dime) were more than happy to spend as much, if not more, than we normally would at a venue.

By this time we've already met several fellow forum abusers - AK, Hausler and Shaun, amongst the many. (Bruce, we already know you, so don't get offended). It's always a treat to be able to put names to faces, and the hour or so we had before the cards were in the air allowed us this opportunity.

In essence, what happened with the cards after this was inconsequential; we knew it was going to be a great night. And it was. Obviously, Matty and Shannon ran the event with eqaul amounts of flair and discipline - kudos to the both of you - and although the small raiding party we brought didn't all fare so well, a great night was had by all (I outlasted them all, of course :D )

We will definitely be back to the Kingsford for another crack, hopefully with a larger raiding party in tow.

glad to hear that all had a great night, i also had a blast. Seems you boys copped a bit of flak from the locals, so im going to have help draw battle lines again :) But i have to say to g/b boys, they may have to move into enemy territory and take you on in your own house, in the intrest of fairness. Plus its allways fun to beat someone in their own backyard.

Correct Matty, I just read the players slightly wrong - had the all-in(Shaun) beat, which i was sure of, and mistakenly had myself in front of the other live player.
