agree with this - it is great to see australia with their backs to the wall

if you look at the teams on paper, India clearly are a step up in class, but i think we did pretty well to get as close to them as we did.

out biggest weakness at the moment is quite obviously a spinner that can bowl a team out on the 5th day.

yeah difinitely one of the greatest sportspeople of all time.

Ill be waiting to see how they structure the proposed championship of test cricket. Whether that means we play 3 test series against everybody will be interesting (would be good and bad).

They could structure things similarly using the matrix ranking system they use now and have each team play different amounts of tests, but it makes it harder for the public to understand i think.

Everybody playing everybody home and away in a 3 test series over a 3-4 year period would be best, but try telling adelaide and perth that they arent getting an ashes test. will be interesting.
Riskers gamble, experts calculate.

whatever they do, the ashes HAS to be at least 5 tests. that is a non negotiable i think.

a better option will be to extend it to 6 tests and use that to fulfil double the requirements

will be interesting to see how it all pans out

Screw the championship of cricket.
Don't need it.

India will suffer when they lose Dravid, Laxmann & Tendulkar.
Good thing for them they are bringing in fresh blood.

They just need Zaheer to learn how to field.

After the test last night they had a world series match from 90/91

The joy of the past

There may be plenty of well-known problems inherent in picking all-time XIs, but the exercise is still a worthwhile one

Great article from Gideon.

First we got to get into it!! It will be played out by the top 4 ranked sides, of which we are sadly not included at the moment :(

As long as the IPL keeps bringing all of the best players, both past and present, into India and into training camps with their youth, they will CRUSH in all forms of the game imho
