pete is taking exception to the fact that gundog has told pete to but out more than once, saying its not his issue, but then has decided to comment himself more than once

looks pretty silly on gundog's behalf

Well this thread is quickly turning into a farce isn't it?

All these conspiracy theories and insinuations are starting to annoy me slightly.

Gundog,

Not that it really matters, but venue management instigated the survey after they approached 888PL for alternative option to their current formats.

Giz,

The cash games are not a forced introduction, in fact it is a product that the maturing market will demand.
If players want challenge games we will continue to supply them.

All,

I have answered all queries put to 888PL and yet noone answers my questions.
888PL and staff have been more than accomadating and upfront in their honesty and dispersion of information.

The fact remains that, if any, changes will go ahead at Hoppers and also what the end result of the survey is.

Now I strongly suggest that everyone take a deep breath, analyze if what they're going to post is constructive and then go ahead and close their browser down. I have been cordial and respectful of everyones opinion and thoughts but if people continue to press their own agendas or make insinuations about unethical, corrupt or disrespectful behaviour I will have no choice but to take steps to protect this forum, my staff, our venues and most of all the integrity of the 888PL brand.

^^^ That was pretty well said I recon! Guys, once you realise that if the venue changes their game it is because their players have VOTED to do so, then you really don't have much of an arguement. I know it sucks to be in a minority, but it definitely won't be the first time!! (I didn't vote for the lady who can't talk properly to lead our Country either!!). I suggest to look a little further out to see what freerolls might be available within 30-40 mins drive of your place. There might be a few options available there...

Otherwise, Garth has given you a great chance to have a major imput into how the proposed cash game is structured, and has even given you a fresh new hint, so why not answer his question???.... ;)
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

"To me, freeroll poker is not classed as gambling as there is no monetary layout required for the game itself. Players have now had the enjoyment of playing poker for a number of years and it has become a social habit. Now these games look like being scrapped and if people want to still enjoy playing poker with their mates, they are being forced to pay for it, I can't see how this is for the benefit of the players"

I did not say that this was a "forced introduction". My wording above probably should have said .......they have no choice but to pay for it, .......

I have no input into how the cash games should be structured as I don't think it would be fair for me to have an opinion on a game that I will not be playing.

In relation to another venue within 1/2 hour drive to play a freeroll, there will be none - only the Hoppers Club on a Monday night. All other venues that are currently running freerolls are approx 1 hour away and I wouldn't be able to make there after work in any case. Nice idea though.
Cheers

I did matter its a venue being proactive which is entirely commendable, perhaps in hindsight a small statement on the voting slip like " The venue and 888pl are looking to enhance poker in the venue. we want your imput". And a comments section at the bottom of the slip may have brought forth additional ideas.
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.
