Until you run into someone who has the royal flush in the first hand, full house in the second, and trips in the back hand.

Can anyone say Freaking Bonus Points.

Especially when the best you can do is straight, straight, Pair.

Kingston Blackjack:

Played with 1 full deck

Very similar to Vingt Et Un with a few twists to facilitate excessive gambling

1. Deal cards out until someone gets a black jack, they are the dealer, the dealer then sets bets limits (usually starts at $2 / $5)

2. Dealer deals everyone 1 card face down, they then decide gow much to bet 2 - 5 in this case, after bets are placed dealer can look at his card and double everyone up, meaning they must double their bet.

3. Dealer then deals everyone and himself a 2nd card (dealer cant look at 2nd card) if your total is 12 + player may flip a card, that is recieve a card without paying for it, if player has a monkey with a 4 player can toss cards in face up, double his bet and receive 2 new cards, if players total is <12 they must buy a card for = or < their initial bet, player can split but only the dealer can double up

4. Heres the major twist: you can buy additional cards for the sum total of your previous bets, not just the max bet. so you could bet $5, then $5 , then $10 , then $20 to have a total of a $40 bet. when the game gets to $10 /$20 level with an aggressive dealer doubling up just about everyhand you get some massive hands (ie you have a K so you bet $20, dealer doubles up so you put another $20 out your next card is a 4 so u throw in your K4, put out another $40 and recieve 2 cards you get A3 so you bet $80 you get a 2 so you bet $160, you get 6, you bet $320 going for the 5 and under which pays 2/1 , you have 640 out there and need any any non paint for a $1280 payday,

other rules: if you get blackjack you get the deal blackjack pays 2/1 you can sell the deal if you can find a buyer, deck must be shuffled after blackjack if players total equals dealers total (push) dealer wins if dealer gets blackjack or 5 and under all players pay him 2/1, if multiple players get Blackjack on the same hand they get paid 2/1 but dealer stays the same. 777 pays 5/1. when the dealer doubles up he must make a noise like a squealing pig (the good noise), if dealer misdeals he pays alls bets.betting limits can only go up, not down (new dealer can alter them if he wishes)

depending on the house you play at some have a rule of you can go for 6 and under which pays 3/1 but this is possibly the worst bet in any gambling game and should not be taken. if you cant bust you cant buy the 5th card for 5 and unders. few more little rules out there but this should get y'all started

this is a good game but can be dangerous as you can lose money you dont have in front of you

I'd suggest you start with Vingt et un (or whatever its called) before graduating to kingston blackjack

enjoy the road to degenerate gambling

Tom, i have played that form of Blackjack for years and years, its my favourite kind of Blackjack. Funny though, i never knew it was called that. Never even heard that name, and yet the rules we played were EXACTLY the same.

In-betweens is a DEADLY gambling game, played that?

CBF posting the way it is played, but i have seen some MONSTER POTS evolve from nothing. It can snowball until someone grows the balls to eventually "go the pot".

It can start with a 20c bet, and can turn into a $300 pot in about 2 minutes. I have seen some freaky luck in that game, BAD LUCK.
Its all about BALLS that game! :D

Ah, In-betweens

Normally brought out at the end of the night / morning when only the diehard gamblers are left. its normally instigated when someone has dumped 1k online earlier or had an especially bad night and wants to get even or cut losses

Everyone chucks in $10-$30 to start and the mayhem follows soon after. Entertaining to watch the guy who has blown $800 (who only earns $300 a week) that night on poker / pokies staring at his J4 and the 1k pot knowing his next decision will make or break his month, he was shaking, but he really started shaking when he hit a dirty K ouch. I said cheer up coulda been a J / 4, If I wasnt bigger than him i reckon he would've taken a swing at me.

Personally i dont invest too much in this game cause i do too well out of the poker games to throw good money away (IE playing omaha I got nut straight / flush and dudes are potting me back with 2 pair LOVE IT).

Rather if I have say a Q2 and its a $700 pot i'l offer to sell it for $400 or so, never fails to find a buyer, (riskless profit) however having said that I also have a counting system for inbetweens which I use, it only comes into play at towards the end of the deck, so if i ever "go the guts" on a big pot i know whats left and never lose (If theres a chance of losing I sell )

Another card game that was very popular for a month or so but died out quickly was 7card stud where the high spade in the hole gets half the pot, and your lowest card in the hole (and any cards that appear on your board of that rank) are wild - it was good to start with but got too easy to read to the point where it was routine to lay down royal flushes / 5 jacks depending if your opponent got his 7th card face up or face down

Kingston Blackjack:

Whats the difference between that and Pontoon, the way I see it bugger all.

Most Ex-soldiers would have played

Pontoon
Jacks or Better Poker
Blind Poker
Hunt the (censored) Black Queen

and then on swy nights(usually pay nigh)

Crown and Anchor
Two Up
and Many other Dice games

Most soldiers regard Blackjack as a sheilas game

Difference between Kingston BJ and Pontoon or "Old School Blackjack" as its sometimes called is that KBJ is played in a potlimit fashion whereas Pontoon is played in a limit style.

IE Playing $5/$10 KBJ you could bet $10, then $10 on next card, then $20 on 4th card then $40 on 5th card for a total of $80.

$5/$10 Pontoon you can bet $10, then $10 , then $10 then $10 for a total of $40
