Nice.

A company that not only makes its customers say please and thank you, they also openly call their customers (or their statements) ignorant.

Don't assume that i don't care about the difficulties around the proccess (why would i ask the question in the first place if i did not care?), it the LACK of information that is the problem.

The answer i got initally (weeks ago) was that it was quite difficult, but would be done when Adam has a chance. So, i took this as say.... 2 weeks. When i again enquired it seems that your job is done, but outside IT issues are to blame.

So be it. As a company, your response should be to this effect when you realise the problem (waiting for your customers to follow up enquiries is customer service at its worst) especially as these forums seem to have a keen following and would be noted, this info would then flow through to the pubs etc and minimise other identical posts from people just wanting to know their ladder position.

The ignorant comment was just ridiculous and insulting.

And note the most important issue - still no actual answer when the ladders will be updated (unless Jan 1 2010 is the answer).

Less time constructing rude email responses and follow up emails justifying them - more time thinking of solutions (even temporary until the political issues are finalised & existing agreements resolved) to assist your customers.

You know, Customers? The reason you are in business.
May all your pain be champagne!

Aren't the players the product?

And the venues the customers?

888pl provides a service -poker- to attract players. Those players attendance is then sold to a venue.

Just a thought

Gmatical,

I am sorry you took offense to my ignorant comment. It was not the best way to phrase my thoughts and for that I accept your animosity.

But the fact of the matter now remains that you have made several demands (not questions) in regards to these matters and these demands have been made without a clear understanding of the processes involved.

Michael, Brett and myself both thought your OP was in relation to the delay in updating online results. Your first post was very ambiguous. It wasn't until Friday when a member emailed me directly and alerted me to the fact that the Home Leader boards were not displaying for Season 2.

I have since had several conversations with our CEO and GM in the unacceptable lack of service offered by those who maintain our websites and the corresponding data.

At this time I cannot give you a suitable answer on a time frame apart from what I first posted; I hope to have this solution rectified within a week.

As to making players say please and thank you; I do believe it is common courtesy that when making an initial request it helps to use pleasentries. I don't believe it is too much to ask for, and in turn we do our best to answer your queries and find solutions to problems in a timely manner.

It should also be noted that our customers are those who pay our bills, in this case the venues, but our consumers are the players; each feeds off the other. We do all we can to ensure both our consumers and customers are kept happy.

Again I apologise for the phrasing of my comment, but I did it find it amusing in a non demeaning manner.

I am on here answering as many customer complaints and questions on a daily basis. We do all we can to ensure a positive customer experience, in this case it is my actions that have made this a negative one. But I strongly believe we are one of the industry leaders when it comes to player/consumer support issues in any playing league' commercial or non commercial, mainly thanks to this forum where we all communicate as equals and discuss every aspect of the league and the work involved openly.

A pretty clear, non-demanding question i would have thought.

Don't be so sensitive about things, i just wanted an answer, which i have now received (sort of) -case closed. I am a straight forward bloke - far from rude or trying to cause a fuss.

I think 888pl is run quite well and you answering questions is a positive. Offensive comments may be seen as friendly banter between friends - but take on a different aspect when it is a customer requesting information from a business.

To me this reads that games are missing, not that the leaderboard doesn't exist.

I would hope that Coles took my complaints seriously if I emailed them, but I wouldn't expect them to reply if I put up a request on a fansite.

Sorry Bacon, but this is clearly more than a fansite. The forum is called
Ask The 888PL.

The first part is non demanding.
This second part. Taken in full context. Makes it sounds like it is.

Got to remember intonation and emphasis is lost in translation into written word. The way people read it, may not be how it is written down or how it was intended. A joke could be construed as an insult.

Still clearly more than a fansite. And if your not being paid I think you should be.

The forum is also a good place to post hand histories...but that's another story... :P
