Funny thing happened tonight at the poker table

a bloke bets 200 with a very weak hand hoping to steal the pot, goes off to la-la land while waiting for other players, he gets two callers and when he sees the player next to him calling the bet he folds forgetting that it was him that made the bet in the first place! Scared himself out of a pot.

That was a seriously sick hand
I've got about 25K in front of me, UTG,.. blinds are 20K / 40K, so its this hand or next, check my cards A3, I've got an Ace, that'll do...
KQ is UTG +1, goes all in...65K...ish
Jo looks at AK, can't remember how many chips left, 60 ish ? but all in
Chip leader with AQ, snap calls
Larx is BB, holding about 45K, Blind has taken 40 from him, so blinds will eat his remaining 5K next hand...same situation A5, he's got an Ace, he's all in.

Monster pot, and when the cards are exposed, Dave and I are thinking oh oh...then hang on, all Aces are out there, 2 Kings are gone, 2 Queens are gone...my 3 or his 5 could be good here !!! Better chance of hitting them than a K or Q.....
but Poker Gods said no...

So, if I had folded, I would've made the Final Table....Hmmm...I dunno, not a good hand obviously, but will be all in next hand on the BB..I'm holding an Ace...thoughts anyone ?

What other option did you or I have Pete?.. Had your 3 or my 5 hit and won the pot we surely would of claimed genius status.
When the blinds are at that stage it's all or nothing.

True, but this is the PHCC.
Any other venue well yeah, big deal...But with the points on offer there...
Someone else gets knocked out that hand, instead of you or I, ..and we make final table, redraw again for the button, could finish on/behind the button...a few free hands...who knows....
Question is do we squeeze out one more hand, or play a rubbish Ace and hope for the best...The goal is of course to climb to the highest position possible.
I dunno.
