Ok, my calculations might not be exact ... but at the Payneham Tavern LATE game (11:30), the top 5 actually finished in these positions:

1st actually finished 5th
2nd actually finished 8th
3rd actually finished 11th
4th actually finished 16th
5th actually finished 19th


so, finishing 19th at a venue (1 x 4th and 1 x DNP) was enough!!

LMAO. i dont know whether to laugh some more or just cry.

(its my own fault though, 2 14ths and 3 DNP from the first 5 games at the willo this season was just not good enough. 15, 7, 5, 12 and DNP wasnt quite good enough for the last half of the season either.)

Yup they could be but it's reasonably close - a lot of the top 10 are also top 50 in the state leaderboard

i suppose those late games would be mainly frequented by the hardcore NPL'ers, and some infrequent pissed dudes, so its not surprising that the top places are all held by the hardcore dudes

I would like to add that those Hardcore player in the top 50 and in the top 5 at Payneham also fought through a venue of 80+ players each night to finish in the top 5.
A lot more to be said about the quality of player's finishing in the top 50.

exactly. its pretty tough to get into the top 50 - it might not be in the order of actual averages, but you still have to know what you are doing to get into the top 50.
