In the CBI I mentioned above, I asked what the size of the pot was... You know the normal pile of chips splashed in the middle on top of the preflop muck (not when its my turn to deal though)... I wasnt in the hand though.
No one answered, and the dealer didnt attempt to make a count, so I layed out the chips as any casino dealer (or ex) would have, only to be told by the TD not to touch the chips... OK, fair enough I wasnt the dealer...
But he then told me, not being in the hand, I had NO right to even ask the pot size...
I responded "Well I like to observe opponents in hands Im not involved in, and wanted to see the pot compared to a bet size, I asked the dealer for a count and he ignored me"
Seriously, am I wrong to want to know a count when not involved in the hand?
