What Are the Odds?!?!?

Alejandro Quattrini and Scott Herd just had a super rare occurrence happen over at Table 295 in the Blue section of Amazon. First, Herd raised, Quattrini reraised, Herd moved all in and after some time in the tank, Quattrini folded pocket kings face up. Herd showed him that he made a good laydown, tabling two aces.

Just ten minutes later, Quattrini raised to 400 from under the gun before Herd reraised to 1,050 from the hijack seat. Quattrini moved all in for 22,675 and Herd went into the tank.

"You know what, I'm going to return the favor," said Herd as he tossed pocket kings into the muck face up. Quattrini showed that he had two aces.

What are the chances the same two players fold kings to aces preflop against each other in opposite spots within ten minutes of each other? And in the WSOP Main Event? WOW!

Chris Moneymaker was one of four players to see a flop of [9c] [ah] [kh]. Everyone checked to the [7d] turn, where Moneymaker was the only player to call a bet of 1,250. When the river fell [js], Moneymaker's opponent checked. Moneymaker put some chips into the pot. His opponent asked the dealer how much it was.

"6,075," said the dealer, without breaking down the stack.

"Wait, how much did you say?" Moneymaker asked. "There's no way it's that much." The dealer then broke down the stack and indeed the bet was 6,075.

"Wow," said Moneymaker. His opponent then called but couldn't beat Moneymaker's straight, [td] [8d]. As Moneymaker collected the pot, he said, "I didn't mean to bet that much."

Fricke Flattened

Jimmy Fricke's 2010 WSOP is over!
Facing a raise to 800, Jimmy Fricke moved all in from the button for his last 3,350 only to have the small blind isolate to 6,500. The original raiser folded and we were off to a showdown.

Fricke: [ah] [jd]
Opponent: [kc] [kh]

The board ran out [5s] [3h] [7s] [5d] [6c] to see Fricke eliminated.

Earlier Steve Wong won a pot with 5x 3x by making a wheel. Perhaps feeling that wasn't enough of a challenge, he just took down a pot with [2d] [4d]. Wong raised to 1,500 on the turn, [kc] [2s] [3d] [2c], after an opponent led out for 500. That player called, then check-called 3,250 more on the river. He couldn't beat trip deuces.

Wong is up to 39,500.
