Is poker taking over your life??

Postby sunbury2 » Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:57 am

I am sure most people have heard of the person that was asked to count upto 20 and stated that it went 9,10, Jack, Queen, King.

Well yesterday I weighed myself and was honestly 88.8 kg! Crazy

lol

the other day, i was talking with my mate about how i am starting to use poker terminology too often to people that dont have any idea.

recently some new kitchen appliances, oven, cooktop etc, and was talking to a non poker playing mate.

i was playing harvey norman and the good guys off against each other to see if i could get the best price. first it started off harveys, they gave me a price of 7k, then good guys went to 6800 but only 12 months interest free instead of 24. so i went back to harvey norman and said if they could match that but do it for 24 months, i would go with them.

but i got some blank looks when i said to my mate that the harvey norman sales chick snap called when i asked if they could do it for that price on 24 months :D

The word "tilt" is creeping in everywhere.

Although non poker people seem to understand when you say some thing like, this driver cut me off and it sent me on tilt.

But that's probably since the poker term Tilt originates from pinball it's probably easy for non players to understand.

Mates and I use tilt/snapcall/bad beat all the time, in everyday lingo.

Mates outside of poker seem to take it as poker lingo and say nothing more of it.
