I'm only doing this post because Alex keeps saying I post all my bad beats and I haven't been doing it because its a waste of time. But I am posting this up to keep Alex happy and hopefully the poker gods may change my luck soon!!
1) 1010 vs Q9
Flop K Q 10... sweet made trips, but theres a flush draw.
Turn Q... made a full house, I'm all in. He calls with his trip Q's.
River K... nice 4 outer to counter my full house. Left with 5k or so.
2) Then later in the night.
I'm the dealer. With 77. Everyone folds to the guy to my right. He min-raises to 2k. I push all in for 9k or so. SB folds. BB insta-calls. Which left him with 1k only, so he's called off all of his stack basically. Original raiser folds.
BB shows 33, vs my 77. I'm happy with that.
Flop 46x Turn 3. Wow just love idiots who call off their stack with marginal (read: bad) hands and get lucky.
River: well I can hit a 7 (2 outs) or a 5 for a straight (4 outs). Do you think I can hit my 6 outer? Hell no.
The poker gods really don't like me this season and its getting to the point where I just don't want to play anymore.
Grrrrr

Re: Grrrrr
I've always found it slightly amusing the amount of complaining that goes on with bad beats or bad calls.
Now, as most people who have seen me play over in good ole SA can attest to, I have received numerous amounts of bad beats. I'm talking sickening and horrendous, three weeks in a row, guy sucking out to a two outer on the river to cost me over $400 each time!
I have even had someone get extremely lucky on me and hit their one outer four of a kind to suck out my flopped Aces full when I was holding the rockets. That pot was worth over $3,500.
So when it comes to bad beats I know what you are all talking about.
But to complain about someone calling off their stack with an under pair, you're holding 7's and they're holding 3's? Please! I live for these mistakes, this is where you make the money.
A part of poker is letting people make mistakes and you getting your money into the pot with the best hand. If you do that every time then your not making too many mistakes.
Calling these people donkeys? Not a good move, you want these people playing in every tournament you play in. I will even lay money on the fact we will see some huge "donkey plays" this weekend in the main event.
Anyway all I am saying is that if I have 7's and am pushing all in I want to be called by the weaker hand EVERY time, no matter what.
I want complain if they do manage to beat me, they are due to beat me 2 out every 10 times, but if i play this scenario the same way every time I will come out ahead 8 out of 10 times and that puts me plenty ahead over the long haul.
Complain about how bad the beat was, not how bad the play was. Would you rather you 7's were called by rockets? Or even AK?

Re: Grrrrr
I know where you are coming from, in fact I didnt really wanna complain anyways, but at least its got some discussion happening.
On its own, I'm ok with it... but every tournament I've played in the last month (except 1) ive been knocked out by a 4 outer or less.
I guess I'm whinging more about my bad run of luck, than the plays themselves. Anyways, times to watch Episode 12 of High Stakes Poker again.

Re: Grrrrr
We had a guy last night doing proper donkey stuff. I'd be raising pre-flop 600/1000/1200 when the blinds were still 50/100 (i had top cards everytime, the times i raised 1200 was when there'd been a raise before me), and we had one guy (he won a huge pot earlier on) calling with Q4 off suit, J5 suited etc, any high card and he was in. I didn't mind so much as i beat him every hand, but my mate copped the brunt of it his calls big time, it was hilarious
