I will be the first to admit i am not a fan of the Yankee's.
George M Steinbrenner being the principal owner though passed away of a heart attack today.
His contributions to the world of baseball has shaped it, and the Yankee's into a respected force from what it was in the 70's
RIP George and may God embrace you with open arms.
RIP George Steinbrenner.

Re: RIP George Steinbrenner.
Never been a huge fan of the Yankees either, prob due to the fact that they lose 90% of the time that i bet on them
that been said though they are prob the most recognisable name in American sports, and that would mostly be due to his contributions....not that id know anything about him.....
But heres hoping he was like the character portrayed in Seinfeld...easily one of my fav supporting characters on TV
Adios Sir
