I was just thinking about my day.
I finished 14th and played many hours.
I didn't have one flush all day
I didn't hit one straight all day
I had one full house all day (Sorry Wabbit!)
I flopped sets twice (once rivering into quads)

I hit a set with the first hand I played all day JJ... No pockets higher than J's and that was about my highlight I think. No full houses, no flushes, no straights... Bring on the GF. Good run Dave!

Re: S2 $30,000 Semi Final Shout Out thread
I was pretty happy with my run, played probably my best poker in a while. Combination of good play, bit of luck, great bluffing opportunities and some accurate reads made me last until about 6:30ish. Made it to top 50, got knocked out somewhere between 38-50. Just got unlucky in the end when I pushed with pocket 6s to get snap called with K 8 suited. King on the window, knew I was near the end then
Highlights of the day:
1) Second hand of the day hit a 10 high flush, folded an all in bet to a straight flush. Phew!
2) My favourite hand [ac] [5c] saved me again from elimination when I flopped trip Aces and rivered a 5 to hit a higher full boat (The other guy flopped a boat with Ace Four!)
3) Went from about 16K to 40K in chips by slow playing a couple of flopped nut flushes.
Im happy with my run, was good practice for the Grand Final
Well done to everyone who went deep, it was a long day!

I better get a good discount on the hoodie for that suckout
I had 2 Full boats during the day one which I felt I was behind against a calling station who had the most evil look on her face, so I didn't bet big on the river and turned out she had Quads.
The other I knew I was way way way infront... when he went all in with his set and the suckout occurs.
I knew i shouldn't have played the night before... I had been getting suckouts all week and saved up my good run till the weekend, had a good run with the rebuy and this variance stripper that garth talks about, left me to do a lap dance elsewhere.....

Well done to all that ran deep and cashed.
Great work in the live updates also guys.
It was a great day that finished a couple hours too early for me personally unfortunately.
Looking forward to the teams event and ultimately the GF.

Re: S2 $30,000 Semi Final Shout Out thread
The story of my day is pretty short actually (well very short).
Got a pretty good table draw, some pretty tight players to my left, and some more aggro players to my right. This included one particularly aggro player directly across from me.
The table was pretty passive pre-flop with the occasional raise but virtually no 3-betting, meaning i could see some cheap flops with hands like low pairs and suited connectors from earlier positions that normal.
First hand of 50/100 level.
effective stacks approx 9k
Aggro player raises UTG to 300, and i make it 850 to go from button with [ah][kh]. UTG player calls. (pot a little less than 2k).
Flop [kc][td][x]
UTG player leads for 3k (into a pot smaller than 2k).
A bit of a wtf moment, and im pretty sure he did this after i took a pot off him earlier with a turn raise. I automatically read him as weak. If he has KT or a set i dont think he plays like this, so i put him on a ten or a PP.
I decide to get it in here so i raise him all in and he tanks for a while before calling for his tournament life (i had him covered by about 6k). Once he started to tank i knew i was good.
He tables [qh][th]
Turn [x]
River [tc]
So im left with around 6k, so not the end of the world.
About 10 hands later i get [3c][3h] from the hijack and decide to limp.
Carly (? i think thats her name, played at AK's cashy) raises to 300 from the cutoff, the same aggro player from before calls from the button as does the big blind, i also call.
flop [Tc][8d][3s]
WOOTBURGER! SET TIME!
I was pretty sure carly would c-bet, and i wanted Mr arrgo still in the pot so i checked.
As expected, carly c-bets to 700, then aggro player raises to 2k.
I decide to shove my remianing 6.2k, partly steaming from ten hands earlier, but mostly knowing that i was in front of the range that aggro player which could include two pair hands, top pair and pretty much all pocket pairs and probably mid pairs.
I shoved, carly folded as expected and villain called tabling [8c][8h] and i was gone. Only benny the cunt can hit miracle one outers!
Just waiting for my dose of run-good in a major tourney.
I must say i did enjoy railing the deep runners a lot though, and benny the cunt in the GF ticket tourney.
Well done to Bacon, David, Aaron, Steve Clark and Dan 'Noot' Schiller for making deep runs - although by the time our car pool left i had been standing around for about 12 hours
Excellent run tourney again by Garth and crew. Brilliant structure and smooth as always.

LOL!
I guess my aim of the day was to "do" a Scott Murrin but I guess you "out-did" me instead.
Well done on making that far, I wasnt as lucky as you when I pushed my pocket 6s in for my tourney life.
When did you get out anyway?
