Carly (? i think thats her name, played at AK's cashy) raises to 300 from the cutoff, the same aggro player from before calls from the button as does the big blind, i also call.

flop [Tc][8d][3s]

WOOTBURGER! SET TIME!

I was pretty sure carly would c-bet, and i wanted Mr arrgo still in the pot so i checked.

As expected, carly c-bets to 700, then aggro player raises to 2k.

I decide to shove my remianing 6.2k, partly steaming from ten hands earlier, but mostly knowing that i was in front of the range that aggro player which could include two pair hands, top pair and pretty much all pocket pairs and probably mid pairs.

I shoved, carly folded as expected and villain called tabling [8c][8h] and i was gone. Only benny the cunt can hit miracle one outers! :D
Very similar to my "crippling" hand.

Not being as passive as matt :D I raise from HJ with 33, BU calls and so does Jamo from the blinds.

Flop 853hh, Jamo bets, I raise, BU folds, Jamo raises.

Here is my first mistake as flatting here only leaves my 3k and I have to call 5, but with draw heavy board, I decide to look for the brick and flat anyway. Another h drops and jamo jams to fold. Jamo has 88.

And that really put me on the back foot :/

Great day, had some good tables with decent play, so happy all in all.

Went down to about 4K early on, when I had 88, and on a K73cc board it was checked around, so I felt I was good.. called the pot bet on the turn & river, and the guy limped with AK.

Built myself back up for the first break, but lost some hands just after to bring myself down to 2.5K, until I got Aces in CO & two ins (200/400 UTG raised to 2.2, UTG+1 all in for 2.8 before my shoves - flopped set, turned the boat). From there, I went on a decent streak.

Hand that saved me was getting 55 UTG with about 40 left, I shoved for like 8BB. Sam Dodd folded QQ. She got the good karma from there... 3 times as a shortstack I called her all-in and she won (all this around the bubble)

The 3rd call was my downfall, as it took 12K from my stack, which 2 hands later (the bustout) could've been useful to get BB to fold her 78 ;)

Still, I reached my 2 goals, beating a Murrin & taking some cash.

Now, to run deep in the GF. And to do well in Melbourne in 3 weeks.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

hey Smitty, thanks for the kind words my friend. Always a pleasure to be sitting on the same table as you. Trouble is, it doesn't happen too often, with you living in Mexico, and me in Alaska, its a fair drive !!! LOL. :D

Finished just outside the money,...grrrrrrr.. 34th I think. nevermind, had a great day, spoke with some fun people, and had a beer or 2....(OK, 27...) and...thanks for the cool new nickname for Caroline......

Now get your butt up to a real game at PHCC this Thursday or I'll start telling Heather about all those things you said....You know .........all the things that started with "Don't tell Heather but....."

Let me say this once again just in case there is actually anyone out there who hasn't already been told...Pocket Jacks is without a doubt THE WORST HAND IN POKER !!

Anyone that says 7 2 is the worst hand has no idea what they are talking about and are not to be trusted. If at any time you look at your cards and you see 7 2....you fold !!! No harm done, too easy surely ....costs you nothing, except maybe a small blind, and you can go back to whats REALLY important.....drinking more beer........

Fish Hooks, almost impossible to fold, will always cost you chips, flop always has AK or AQ or KQ and theres always someone that has called with his Ace 3 off, with the mentallity of "Oh, but I had an Ace "....... The real test in ones' character is to then NOT reach over the table and attempt to remove his liver .... Tricky...I know...

Of course the second you do fold, the turn / river ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY will be another Jack and your set would have been good.

Caroline ? We eagerly await your words of wisdom on this topic whenever you're ready...

Yes I felt your pain there.... (and I was silently calling for a Q for you :) from the rail)
and FWIW, I fold them in that spot... to your over shove
I realise that may not make you feel any better about the hand, but its meant to...
(I didnt see all the preflop action but assume you pushed over the top of the initial pusher and didnt just flat call him?? -based on things you have written here on the forums)

I did a decent bit of post game thinking when I got home, and cant really figure any big errors I made. A few things like probably being able to get more value on the river or whatnot, and trying to get manic callers to fold to raises (dumb!), but overall I was quite happy with how I played (in both the ME and GF games). Just glad I didnt go busto in ME L2, when I called 3BB from the BTN with KTs, and flopped trip Kings... CO showed down KJo... ouch!

FWIW I think the structure of the SnGs to the $50 GF tickets game shoulda been made known a bit clearer as I had no idea until I sat down that it was basically a bad beat table... Good thing a lot of people are close to clueless regarding SS v SS play ;)

But a great day of poker... Met a heap of great people, heard and saw a few new poker ideas, shared a few with others. Thats 1 thing I really like about the poker community in general: Always willing to help others improve their game... Even just to discuss and swap ideas etc... Much more so than in any other sport I have played or still do... (amongst competitors I mean)

It went, open shove for what I was told was 450k from UTG (but I had 260k change after the hand, so I don't know), I had 430k~ at the time, I ship after about 30-40 secs.

BB snap calls, says "I'm all in too." I thought he had Kings or Aces with how quickly he called.

And yeah, rest was history.
