ok, ill give my answer now

a few have already touched on it, but imho it is completely ridiculous to even contemplate playing phil ivey, and here is why

your edge playing blackjack is - 0.5%. what do you think it would be against phil ivey. do you really think you are anything close to a coinflip against him?

this alone makes it extremely clear that blackjack is the better game to play, although both are obviously losing plays in the long term.

i decided to put a couple of extra things in there about choosing the stakes etc, just to get people to think about the variance of each of the games.

caleb correctly deduced that lowering the stakes in blackjack is good, because it lowers our variance. by playing $1 a hand until the last hour or couple of hours means that we are reducing the time the house has to win a significant amount of money from us.

against ivey, his skill edge would be so large that he would crush us in such a short time its not funny.
but, because ivey has such a massive skill edge against us, i think it would be better for him to keep the stakes small. the deeper the stacks, the bigger his skill advantage becomes, and the lower the overall variance.

the whole point about counting was i didn't want people to argue that BJ was +EV.

i very nearly (and probably should have) chosen pokies as the game we had to play instead of ivey.

i still think it would be better to play pokies than ivey over a 24h period

Roulette would've been the best option.

I only have 1 option because BJ is a shiela's game, it's worse than Pontoon and I wouldn't play it either.

Can we play dealers choice?

LMAO @ true ignorance.

You want to play Ivey in a game of HIS choosing?

Yeah way to go on that call! Considering he is the master of just about every non HE discipline as well.
