I have experienced 888PL/NPL make a ruling, to suit itself, and used the "fairness" defense in instigating said rule.

im pretty sure there are bigger things to worry about in the grand scheme of things.

No I don't want to exploit the loophole personally. But the loophole exists.

Yet you tried to! Because you could?

If, as you stated, you didn't agree with it, then why do it?

Makes you look pretty poor imo.

Hey David,

I have played 3/4 as in 75% and I have only not played once this season (this excludes last nights game). I agree absolutely that people should not be able to register and then not play but if the rules do not prohibit it then 888PL must follow due process in going about amending the rules and due process means giving people enough time to gain knowledge of the new rule - perhaps make the rule come into affect after the next GF much like when the government implements new legislation usually at the start of a financial year.

I think we have heard enough.

Not one player has stood in your defense Trishan and all agree that to be counted as having played a game you must actively participate in it.

Do not ever try to dictate the steps we take to rectify problematic scenarios. The fact remains you tried to exploit what you believed was a loophole to achieve your qualification into the Grand Final and it was decided that your actions were not in the spirit of the game and or the spirit of the league (to which you readily agree).

So the TC (and now 888PL) have deemed it necessary to make the statement that any player who does not actively involve themselves in participation of events is not participating in the spirit (or the interests) of the League and it's players. As such you will be unregistered from said event and not awarded any participation points.

I suggest that you accept the comments and rulings as offered by 888PL and your peers and move on. I can categorically state that I and many others have lost a great deal of respect for you today; your actions and comments are unethical and morally distasteful and I, for one, honestly thought you were a better person than this.

C'mon mate, just play your ten games, accept that what you did (no matter if it was pedantically a part of the rules or not) was not in the spirit of the league and STFU. This thread is tilting me so bad!

I wasn't going to post at all because I knew how people like gundog and Matt Porter would response. Garth, I suspect knew that people would most likely respond in this way and encouraged me to post.

Most of the people who responded made excellent points but missed the real issue here. It's not about me exploiting a loophole it's the ability of the league to make, what in is my opinion, arbitrary decisions under a "fairness" clause. "Moving the goal posts" in the middle of the game.

Well basically that clause means the league can do anything that darn well please and make any rule they wish under the "fairness" clause. Is it fair that players use HUD in online games and others don't? Doesn't seem fair, so let's ban the use of HUDs or why not just ban players who use HUDs in the "spirit of fairness".

I didn't try it that was the point! I registered with the intention of returning.

Does anyone who has read this believe that the ruling made against Trishan was arbitrary and has anyone here experienced 888PL/NPL make a ruling to suit itself and used the "fairness" defense?

How about you stick to one argument at a time Trishan?

Is this about "changing rules" without a notice period?

Or the actual "fairnss" ruling that you actually find so unfair?

I tell you what, if you are that unsatisfied with this league, and believe that 888PL acts in such an inappropriate manner and continue to denegrate or cast dispersions on the people who operate this company then I suggest you find an alternate supplier for your poker needs.

Garth I agree with this.

How did I try to exploit it when I intended to return? I couldn't make it because of personal circumstances and I even told the TC last night to unreg me if I didn't get back in time.

I suggest that you accept the comments and rulings as offered by 888PL and your peers and move on. I can categorically state that I and many others have lost a great deal of respect for you today; your actions and comments are unethical and morally distasteful and I, for one, honestly thought you were a better person than this.

My issue here has nothing to do with my personal situation because as I have mentioned I have played 3 out 4 games I have registered for and intended on playing the remaining games as well. My issue is with the way in which rules can be changed.

Yes, I knew exactly how the player base would react, because they all seem to be respectful people with common sense and all have a fine grasp of ethical and moral behaviour. Just because there is a perceived loophole does not make it right.

I did not encourage you to post, and you actually bought it first to the public domain.
