Well season 1 for the year is over, here is a brief summary of what was achieved in the Barossa Gawler region.
We ran 10 weekly games in the region this season and once again recieved a great responce from players with good average numbers across the board. The Willaston Hotel started running two games this season providing a sunday night game in the region.
The Kingsford Hotel set a record on the 24th of January with 92 players turning up to have a game.
Season 1 2008 also saw the introduction of prizes for the top 5 on the region leaderboard which provided great entertainment in the last few weeks, watching Shaun and Aaron fight it out to see who would finish higher. We will also have our first regional final at the vine inn on friday 28th march, while numbers will not be as high as expected should still be a great night and will set the foundations for future regional finals.

Re: Barossa / Gawler 2008 season1 review
Nice review Matty.
Season 1 08 was the first season that I started playing more than one venue a week - I was after more chances at state finals, I never expected to finish 2nd in the region. I'll be honest, it was the cash prizes offered by NPL that made me continue to play 4 venues a week, hear hear to NPL for instituting a system that gets players playing more games every week.
Will be interesting to see how the Friday night game goes at the Kingsford this season, hope they get a lot of numbers - I know I'll be there.
The only downside to B&G Season 1 08 was the loss of Shannon
Congrats to all the B&G TD's, and especially Matty, for leading the B&G charge (here and at every game I see him at).
