to be quite honest with you, i think this hand is played pretty poorly.

preflop, i would have 4bet it - taking a flop 4 way is horrible, because its very hard to know where you stand. i would have 4bet to about 1650 preflop

on the flop is fine

on the turn, why aren't you betting? anyone with a naked jack is likely to bet the flop because the board is relatively wet, and if i had something like TJ or AJ, i definitely wouldn't want another card to peel.

on the river, its a bit of a weird spot. do you think they would do this with a naked K or Q? this is basically never a flush unless the player is either retarded or he has a royal.

if the cutoff has checked behind KJ or AJ twice, then good luck to him. more than likely he has a naked K or Q i think.

with his stack size, i would probably just get it in against him here.

you shoved and he snapped you off with a royal right?

I am not a big fan of 4 betting with Q's. I'm only doing that with AA or KK. Let's look at a flop and see where we are.

On the flop I was like if they've hit any of that I'm screwed. Yes, possibly shoulda bet the turn. But only a hand that is beating me is possibly calling.

I flatted the river and the villain showed two black A's.

You are right in the end. The river is a shove.

Rather 4-bet than be 4-handed to the flop though

Call. 1160 more to win the approximate 3.5k in the pot. If he has slowplayed the Jack, get away with the least amount of value.

If he has the royal, meh, he is happy he got paid off.
After that, everything is more in your favour than his.

BTW guys (and girls), this tourney just finished. Ended up 3rd for $260 odd ($4.40 2R 1A - so $16.40 investment)... 55 into AK and the K hit and A9 into A8 and an 8 on the river (A523Q8). When I lost to the AK I was down to 110K and built back up to just under the 380K average...

that is the worst played aces i have ever seen btw :D

i still like 4betting pre though, just to thin the field. if you are in position, heads up, then i think flatting the 3bet is ok, as it keeps villains' range the widest, but out of position i think it is definitely a 4bet.
