Betts is having a 30% shoe sale at the moment.....all spring season shoes have been reduced....

I am going to need some new shoes soon, but at the moment I am desperately trying to find a schmick dress for a wedding in QLD in Nov.

I have scoured Rundle Mall, Westlakes & Harbourtown but haven't found anything I like yet. Next on my hit list of places is Rundle Street (Miss Gladys Sym Choon in particular).

Can anyone recommend a place to go for a formal cocktail type dress (no tafetta high school formal dresses though please!!)

Oh & BTW the wedding is being held at Cloudland in Fortitude Valley QLD. The place looks amazing. Check it out here: http://www.cloudland.tv/#/cloudland/the-venue/

Is this an invite Lisa ? ? :)
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

Great post Lisa!

OK, I would love to help you out on this one but I need more info.....what is your price range and what type of dress cut are you after? Do you want a nice, classic flowy style dress or one that is more fitted? What colour are you after? Strapless/low cut....what do you prefer?

Miss Gladys Sym Choon is very nice :) While you are on Rundle street, I would suggest going into Saba (although it may be a bit pricey)

One place I would definetly recommend you go see is Glamour Room on Payneham Road. They have a full room of beautiful dresses (its my favourite shop!) and usually have a whole rack of those heavily discounted cocktail dresses.

Let me know how you go 8-)

I must confess that I'm not a girly type girl either, and quite enjoy all the sport talk

BUT, I will contribute in here where I can :)

Which is to say that I'm hopeless when it comes to shopping!!! Although I do love a good coffee :D

Glad I am not the only one :D
going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and not sure what to wear. Do you think it would be bad if I wore my mistress poker jacket? Not sure if it will go with my pink happy shoes which is always a concern.

On a serious note though I am so unprepared for this wedding. My hairdresser is currently booked to Christmas and I have to find another one quick. I am doing a new job also which is all based around excel spreadsheets which I have finally got my head around but requires me to have to depend on others to do there job right which for the most part is just not happening. So lots of late nights fixing the stuff ups and not much time left for shopping for clothes to wear to the wedding. My husband is not talking to me since the ATM incident ( some people have no sense of humour), my daughter had hit puberty and is driving me insane,my first son has found god, my 2nd son is never behaving (wont go there) and my third son well he is sticking under the radar (wise move).

Wow it felt good to let that all out :o Sorry to have bombarded you with my life but you all know that sometime I just never know when to stop typing or more importantly when to shut up. I really need a coffee!

Edit: and while typing this my set of kings was beaten by a guy who had a set of nines all in on the turn and he rivered a full house

Team the jacket with a nice pair of strappy bling shoes and you'll be fine :)

And as for the children....hmmmmm, I'm hearing you on the puberty thing. Although now my 2 younger daughters think that it's a good thing to try and replicate the eldest daughters behaviour! AND it's now school holidays!!! Not sure I'm going to survive

But yes.....coffee is the answer.....I think?? Hmmmm, maybe coffee is the answer for today?

Thanks for the advise jacqianie I knew that someone here would point me in the right direction. Thinking of ditching the coffee and heading for the vodka though what do you think. Haven't had a drink in a very long time although I cant remember why I decided I was never drinking again. A few black Russians and I may remember :D

And the day is already looking up the son who has found god also found macca's on the way home. All is forgiven :D

OK, I know this isnt thread related, but how is this possible?

Possibilities (treating the terms set and trips equal):
Kx/9x on KK99 brd - You have Kings full
KK/9x on K99? brd - You have Kings full
Kx/99 on KK9? brd - They have Nines full already
KK/99 on K9?? brd <- This is the only scenario where you both have sets, and any river that pairs the board will give you a bigger FH than them ???

But to make it worthy of this thread...
I understand completely about newly pubescent daughters!
But the one flying under the radar is probably the one to worry the most about ;)
