Movie Review Thread

Hey guys,
If you have watched a movie recently add a review in this thread. State the movie name, comments and rate it out of 5 stars.

The Experiment (2010)

"The Experiment" is based on a true story (Stanford Prison Experiment) about a psychological experiment where subjects are assigned to two groups, prisoners and guards. The subjects are everyday people who, in isolation, adopt their roles to an extent where things get out of control. Not a bad movie.

2.5 Stars

The Infidel (2010)

"The Infidel" is a British movie about a Muslim man, Mahmud, who discovers he was born Solly Shimshillewitz, a Jew. Torn between his Jewish roots and Muslim upbringing, the movie follows his quest to become more "Jewish" in order to meet his birth father who is on his death bed. This is at ends with his attempts to impress his son's future father-in-law who is a fundamentalist Islamic cleric. I thought it was very funny.

Tomorrow When the War Began (2010)
"When their country is invaded and their families are taken, eight unlikely high school teenagers band together to fight."

for lovers of the books, this is an adaptation that is pretty close. some of the acting and dialogue is horrible, especially from lincoln lewis, but the action scenes are pretty decent. pretty good popcorn flick, i hope they make the rest of the series

3 stars.

They could've made it darker in tone. Missed them killing the dog off, but since when have we seen animals murdered in movies? I thought the acting/writing was good, sucked me in enough to believe that that was Ellie on screen, Kevin really felt for Corrie etc. Caitlin Stasey rocked as Ellie, she easily did the best job among the kids and definitely held the main role down well. The guy that played Lee was good too.

They're making two more movies, btw.

3.5/5.

And really, I've been doing this in the AWESOME TO THE MAX thread for months :D

I'm gonna check out Choke tonight.

The film is based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk. It tells the story of a man who works in a colonial theme park, attends sexual addiction recovery meetings, and intentionally chokes on food in upscale restaurants so his "rescuers" would give him money out of sympathy and thus cover his mother's Alzheimer's disease hospital bills.

Sam Rockwell is the lead and I always enjoy his work.

I'm devo, Scott I just remembered when my HDD died my bluray copy of Public Enemy #1/Killer Instinct was lost I was looking forward to watching that.

caitlin stacey was easily the best out of the bunch, but some of her dialog was a bit forced as well i think.
