2.) Win a Grand Final
3.) Win a Wild Card Entry via an ONLINE promotion
4.) Place in the top 100 of the DREAM TEAM SCOREBOARD.
I think that alleviates most concerns doesn't it?
What can I say ? Fan"bloody"tastic
This opens the Dream Team to a greater number of players.
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

I am not 100% for it though. It's almost a different "team" or "list" all together.
I still like the idea of people grinding points to get IN to the dream team. The idea above means that what they do counts for very little, as it's all back to square one to see if they even get into it.
Whilst I think the scoring/ladder system needed tweaking, I did like the climb people had to take.
The argument was that the Dream Team was not an accessible goal for players nationally. I have changed that now and the DT completely.
What do you recommend? That each state has a rep? I don't think that is fair in terms of a national comp, especially when we are talking that QLD has twice as many players in the DB as SA, SA has three times as many as TAS and VIC has 1.5 times as many as QLD.
Can I also state that previously only 40% of the Dream Team were only ever GRINDING out points trying to get in; we still had another 7 players qualify via a one off result.
I honestly believe that the system is fair and continues to reward the players who do well in big player events on a semi consistent basis. I honestly believe that up until now there has been no issues with the DREAMTEAM or SCORE BOARD, but now that QLD players have caught on and there isn't the proliferation of SA or VIC players in the top 5 of the SCB, it is a major concern for the regs on this forum.
I think I have found a satisfactory response to the primary argument presented!
Now if the complaint is about the hardship faced in trying to achieve a top 10 position on the DREAM TEAM SCOREBOARD then that is a different discussion and something I think is currently a fair system and just because the GOLD COAST has massive numbers and two core venues operating 10 events per week does not mean we should change the system to hamstring GC players. All scoreboards are about rewarding mass volume players who perform consistently and this has been discussed to death in all conversations about State Scoreboards.

I don't think it's unfair. Semi finals aren't unfair so each state has the same chances against their own state in that.

And it's not so much a complaint!
I don't think modifying the rules means you've hamstrung people at all - It's about a structure that caters for differing circumstances and variables.
And MY GOD @ 10 events a week in one venue. That's seriously unreal!
I'm ok with leaving it as it is, don't get me wrong. It's just the prestige around it that doesn't match up. As you said, it's a reward for the high-volume players, not the best players. If some of the best players are also high-volume players, then cool.
The dreamteam players are paraded at events like they are the best players (even though some of them are very good). They're given rings. They are dressed up as the best players we have.
Even Matt just posted in the Announcements section "Each season 888Poker League gives away over $20,000 in cash, prizes and poker experience’s to the best 888PL players in the country!"
The combination of the away and home events is a good way to build awareness and numbers at events and I do like the avrage + average system.
But it does seem weird that someone can finish in the top half dozen of people with a home average of just over 11.

It is not 10 events in 1 venue it is 10 events around the same suburb in different venues

1.) Top 100 on DT scoreboard (100)
2.) Top 5 on State Away Scoreboard (25)
3.) Top 5 on Home Scoreboard (5)
4.) Winner of each Regional Scoreboard (50)
5.) WILD CARD promotion for 10 spots (ONLINE)
Thoughts on this one?

Looks good.
Though I'd look into how many of the top five of each "away" and "home" aren't also in the dream team leaderboard.
I would have thought most were?
