I agree, but the other factors you mention, including not being eliminated, and possibly eliminating one of the best left in the field make him want to and eventually he does call, I myself doesn't understand how he can call, but your metagame comment sums it up, these players this deep in that tournament play at a much higher level than you and me, well me definately, not so sure about you. If it was me, I would smooth called Affleck's raise pre flop, then check-raise him all in thinking he had AK or AQ, get snapped of, but thats why I don't pay US$10000 to play a poker tournament.

For those following live:
Spoiler:
Jarvis is out on an incredibly sick hand! Jarvis the short stack raises all-in over the top of Mizrachi's open raise. Mizrachi calls to see them racing in a 30million chip pot. Jarvis slight ahead of Mizrachi's AQ with pocket nines. Flop Q 8 Q. Mizrachi supporters going nuts. The 9 on the turn shut them up as Jarvis took a huge lead. But alas, an ace from space on the river saves Mizrachi and Jarvis departs in 8th.

[Comment From Matt A]
Greg I recently suffered a huge bad beat. What would be your advice for dealing with a such a beat?
