looks good garth, but any reason why the murrin rebuy is so late? makes it pretty hard for those of us that work normal hours

I work normal hours and am still finding time to grind out 6 - 8 hours every night. LOL but pretty sleep deprived right now.
Also this is in AEDT so that will be 30 minutes behind in SA and one hour earlier in QLD. I cannot cater for everyone in timing.

Re: Time to have your say again!
I was enjoying the daily 10 dollar tournaments
Only thing i'd prefer to see is the tournaments start a little earlier but I'm guessing thats to tie in with other states and to not clash with venue events.
Perhaps a 3$ buy in with 1R1A available to all players.
That would attract players who don't want to spend the 10 every night and also allow for alot of action with the rebuy and add on.
Start stack of 2k with 2k rebuy and maybe 3k add on.
Great value for 9$

I was going to ask if it were possible to keep the Murrin in it's current time slot seeing this was something you quickly smashed up!!!!!!!

OBV pending approval from management and 888.
Unfortunately, it sounds like it's set in concrete from your above reply to Mr_smooth.
Like many other Murrin players it was a good time frame and a lot of fun and didn't break the bank. Not all 888PL players want to grind all night mate but I do prefer online cash games to the freerolls.

what a load of crud.....most workers start work between 7am and 9am .....they are not going to pay to play, if the event finishes much later than 11pm.
David wrote:As for another "online provider" there are NO other combined live/online providers.
This maybe so but it has lost its participation rate compared to the 1st couple of seasons almost every event capped out well before start time, but this also had an effect on the live venues. Hence the killing of games between 4 & 8 pm. So where has all these online players gone, not back to venues. Alas just look at Murrins, Murrins 1.0 capped out at 150 runners every night, Murrins 2.0 20 to 30 players almost every night, so the example shows put lots of freerolls early enough and they will fill, pay to play and they go elsewhere. Nb 888PL makes jack from freerolls.
David wrote:If you jst want to "play online" then you can play 888 ANY TIME you want, it doesn't have to be an 888PL game.
The only reason why most of us support 888 is because of the affiliation and linking with 888PL.
And I will reinterate that in the past I was an ardent supporter of 888PL playing 3 to 4 live venues per week and playing online 888PL, since the changes and the introduction of the so called Dream Team 888PL has disenfranchised me as a supporter because it has tunnel vision for the high number metro venues and late starting online events.
So why should I support 888/888PL and not another online provider......even some of the high profile members of this forum are rarely seen at venues and online now, so whats that telling you.

Gundog, you continually contradict yourself.
Yes you have been a good supporter of venues in the past, yet you complain about late starting/finishing online games, which don't harm the venues you support? Just because you don't like playing games past 11pm (which for the record, i dont either) doesn't mean that others dont.
Have you even read the new structure? Garth specifically said that structures including start stacks and blind levels have been modified to prevent ultra-late finishes, Isn't this what you wanted?
If 888pl had an awesome online schedule between 6-9pm on weeknights, you would be complaining that they are not supporting venues enough.
There is no pleasing some people, who don't realise exactly what 888pl is providing them. We are lucky to be able to play online at all in a league format. We are lucky that 888pl has also done everything they can to be innovative, and continue to modify their structures in order to maintain the interest of in-venue players too.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. 888pl is a business, and as such, should be catering for the people that make them the most money. Its not as if this penalises the casual or lower volume players either, they still have heaps to play for.

Re: Time to have your say again!
just had a look at the structure, and i think its great. agree that the lowered stacks and blinds during weeknights is a good thing.
gundog, you say that you cant play past 11pm each night
pretty sure all of these events wont go past 11pm - maybe 1130 for the deepstack, but it is 6max and 10 min levels, so its definitely not going to go past midnight.
8:30:00 PM Standard Freeroll 888PL Freeroll #2 $0.00 2,000 10 minute blinds Y Winner receives entry into Weekly Low Stakes Satellite 2 0
8:45:00 PM Standard 888PL JMACK GRIND $3.00 + 0.30 2,000 10 minute blinds Y Ne wintroduction, standard event named after most rewarded 888PL player 2 3
9:00:00 PM Deepstack - 6 max 888PL Feature Event $5.00 + 0.50 5,000 10 minute blinds Y Short handed event; deepest structure daily. 2 5
9:15:00 PM PLO 888PL Nightly PLO $2.00 + 0.20 3,000 10 minute blinds Y PLO event - buy in reduced dramatically and structure reduces run time 2 5
so 4 games a night during your times is not enough for you? how many tables do you normally play?

Mac I suggest you re read my post again it actually supports limited games available durining the clash time frame and 888pl, and you have attacked only 1 small portion of my post.

This was a general observation, as my circumstances are some what different I start work at 5am 3 days a week, I wont be playing with any online provider where agame gos beyond 9pm, and that is the same reason why I dont play at the club on Tue nights unless someone else is opening Wed morn.
But what you have failed to answer is where have all the players gone outside of freerolls and special events most games are lacking quality numbers....with the exception of a few key venues most other venues havn't increased their patronage since the removal of the early evening OL games.
In one breath you defend 888pl's decision to restrict games during the week against venues, but it's ok to schedule games Sat night between 6 and 8 pm against live venues, so whats the difference dont those Sat night venues deserve the same protection as the weekday venues. Alas it appears not.
