Well done old man Swanky, unfortunatly I was the 1st to bite the dust on the final table, would have loved to shipped a ticket, however I had great fun playing Big Pete, Kentishgirl and the rest on our start up table it was a laugh a minute almost worth the price of addmission.

Overall I enjoyed the day going out of the main event @ 45 1st hand after the dinner beak and 9th in the GF buyin.

Crikey it was Bl**dy hot upstairs well done to the event staff you done an excellent job in trying conditions.

the only feedback for the day would be that i think that it could have been a little more deepstacked towards the end, when the cash bubble burst the average stack was less than 10bb.

im not sure how you go about that though - maybe getting rid of some early levels and putting in some later ones would help a lot.

removing the 25-50 and starting at 50-100 and adding in 4k-8k and 6k-12k levels would have been better.

Re: Season 4 2010 Semi Final WAFC

I had a great day. Despite being tired from a late night Friday, and a long day on Saturday, I felt ready to go. Usually I enter these big events with an attitude of "well if it happens for me today, it happens", but on Sunday morning I went there to win despite obviously being a long shot of doing so. All day I remembered that, and played accordingly.

Also, making 13th two semi finals ago, after having 400k+ at the tea break (chip lead by 150k) and then crashing out was motivation to do better.

When we were down to four tables I either knew, or knew of most of the players there which was a change from previous finals. All day I was trying to find out as much information as I could about each person, where as in the past I would just relax, and see what happened - being more reactive than proactive. Before too long on each table I had a grasp on the passive/tight players' blinds I could have more chance of stealing.

I wish I had more of a stack when I was heads up with Ben Lee, but it wasn't the case. The cards didn't help either; the first hand of heads up he moves all in on my big blind and I have 6 2. The second hand, my SB, I have 9 5 and fold - and he frustratingly shows pocket tens.

Third hand, he moves all in again on my big blind, at which time I have around 6BB left. I call with J9 off. He has 66 and it's a race, until a 6 hits the window and it's the end. Given his huge chip advantage at the final table when we started, I don't believe I could have done any better.

The key hand for Ben Lee was when there were two tables left.

On a board that resembled something like [kh] [2h] [jh] [8s] [qc], Ben Lee moved all in with [jd] [th].

The other guy (with a large stack) tanks and calls with [9c] [9s]. That put him up to over a few million and basically allowed him to dominate the final table.

Earlier on, when there were around 60 left, I doubled through benny the cunt with TT against his AQ. I then doubled a hand or two later with AK, getting KJ to stack off.

On the FT, I was UTG for the first hand and moved all in with TT, to be called by Hanno to my left with AQ. He flopped a Q, but the turn saw a J which gave me a straight (flop was 9KQ from memory).

It was a fun final table. I 3-bet where I could and made up a lot of ground on the other players early on, building my stack.

Paul James knocked out two players in one hand when his flopped set of sixes rivered a boat to take out the SB (who was all in for a bit over the BB) and the older gentleman at the other end of the table. Good river, with a jack pairing the board - the all in SB had 89 for a turned straight (board 6 9 J 10).

Great (albeit tiring) day, and extremely satisfying.

Was lucky enough to be in a good team on Saturday to make the cash in the teams event, and then cashed in the High Rollers (Damn you Moose!) so it wasn't a bad weekend all up.

Brilliant catching up with everyone.

good read dave, well done again.

that flip would have been awesome for me if i had won it, i think i lost about 40% of my stack and i would have been close to the chip lead if i won that. no matter though, if i was gonna give chips to anyone i was fine giving them to you :D
