Its Wort, pronounced wurt.

What kind of brews do you create?

Yah true , just did a Sparkling ale with light malt , the one poured is a Coopers Pale Ale (tin job) .

Getting a recipe next week when i go back to the brew shop , to have a crack at "real" beer style .. (non tins)

Used to brew heaps my self , but it has been a good 10 years between brews .

New fridge Harps , worked out the easier/cheaper way to set it up .. ;)
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

pre carbonation , If you burp the keg (get the oxygen out by putting c02 in) , i was told it can stay good for 3 months plus ..

Once cold , carbonated and sealed , kegged homebrew will last well over a year (depending on style) . It will last just as long as bottles i am led to believe .

Dont think a 20 ltr keg would last that long in my place tho :)

The first one lasted 9 days ;)

Think you will find 3 months is usually your safest option with draught. Pretty much keeps the majority of the flavour and before any musty taste starts to develop . Any longer say the 3-9 months is when the off flavours start to come through. After 12months though it goes to a new taste with the musty flavours disappearing.

Quite interesting when i tasted fresh 6month old, and 5 year old VB. Would drink the 5yo just because it had a smoother less bittery taste to it.

Yah , the lighter draughts & lagers etc , dont seem to last as long as the heavier styles ..

I used to bottle all mine previously , then let them sit for a month before drinking .

Kegging is all new to me atm , so i am on a learning curve , like a noob at the brew shop

Keg has to be clean. No dregs :-).
Also water has a huge effect on the styles of beer. Heavy water for heavier flavoured beers e.g. Stouts and Dark Ales. Pure water for lighter flavoured beers e.g. Wheats.

Also keep an eye on your seals on the keg. They do go pretty fast, and any extra air going into the bear gives it this unique unholy taste. :-)
