Garth,

Checksides are opening a new Sunday afternoon game, $25 buy-in with $5 being a bounty on your head (I think it is terminator format). I heard about it last Tuesday.

And you are right, 10 - 20 to 1 is more like it for this bet, winning any of these events will be very difficult...
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

First thing I'd be doing if I took the bet, is follow you around everywhere, sitting on your table :D

you will do better if you work out odds you are willing to accept and then ask if there are any takers.

but i can tell you that 20-1 is ridiculous (ill go through the maths later if you like). anyone wanting to lay that sort of bet would be silly unless they do that sort of stuff all the time, because its basically a freeroll for you at the money we are talking about - if i say too $20 at 20-1, then $20 doesn't hurt you at all if you lose it, but $400 does to me. for it to be a decent bet, you need to be sweating a bit not freerolling :P

if you want people to back against you then you need to be willing to back yourself at slightly lower odds, i doubt you will get any action at more than about 5-1 but i might be wrong.

Jo,

If I was so inclined I'd take benny the cunt's odds but for a wager of $1000.

I'd also make sure I played those events and haunted you :)

But I'm not inclined at all, and merely poking fun at you to pass the time ;P
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Ok, so no other takers.

For the sake of the exercise, I'll accept BOTH of benny the cunt's offers.

2.6 to 1 @ $50 for a win
7 to 1 @ $10 for FT

Let's do this!

For the final table it's 1:7 not 7:1. You should get that one easy

I dunno.....1 down and your money is safe!

Was reeling in a player when I was holding KK, know the player and had him on mid pockets after I raised big preflop. Bet the flop big, get called, allin for about 5K on the turn (blinds 200/400), he insta-calls and rolls his 10 10..........

Yep, 2 outer on the river! I LOVE the river!!!!

4 to go, odds definitely in your favour mate. :(

Keep your head up Jo I can feel a win coming for you. Variance is a cow but if you get you money in good and play the hand right and still loose then you have just got to move on to the next one. It sucks big time but you can't change it all you can do is remember that statistically next time you take down the big pot and you are one step closer to your next win. You are a solid player and you will start to win again soon.

FT @ Semaphore last night helps, now I don't have to sweat it so much I can go all out for the win in the next 2 events... :D
