Who got it right?
23 year old son buys a iphone3 within 3 months it dies its replaced under warrenty, replacement also has a heart attack, son upgrades to iphone 4. The old man buys buys a nokia N97 Symbian S60v5 has no problems.
So now I ask the all knowing Bennymacca what is the issue with the symbian Os, if there is such issues with it then why is Nokia releasing it latest smartphone the E7 with a Symbian^3 Os.

Re: What Phone should i get
Because Symbian is finally decent, after all this time. That doesn't say one thing about how pathetic it's been for so long though.
Guy at work bought a HTC phone. Two days later, it died.
The replacement was ok for 5 months, when the exact same thing happened.
It's ok to hate something, but at least don't make it so obvious.
It's cool to have an iPhone. And it's cool to hate it.
Get the sh!t out of your eyes, and realise it's just another smartphone, and one that does things really really well. It's as simple as that.

My 2cents!
I am and iPhone user and think they are fantastic. I have had a windows based Palm before which I also found quite useful, how ever, comparing it to the iPhone, they were both 100% capable to servicing my business/email needs the iPhone just packed that extra punch with the MP3/Apps.
Up until I became and i-whore, I did love Nokias. Incase people are not aware. Nokia has just signed a HUGE (I MEAN FREAKIN HUGE) deal with Windows to have all their new phone built with the Windows operating systems. To put that in perspective, the LARGEST market share phone hardware provider just signed a deal with the SMALLEST phone operating system provider. I think Microsoft/Windows have a a lot of catching up to do before they will be able to produces phones at the standard iPhone/HTC/Ericsson are.
One more thing I would like ad is that Android is becoming very popular very rapidly and app publishers are are publishing more APPs for android than Apple now. This is partly because Android is (being Google and open source) do not set a standard/testing process. This is good and bad, it makes apps cheaper as Google (unlike Apple) won't control or even take a slice of the pie from the app developers but it also means that there may be malicious apps out there just waiting to download you life's details when you unwittingly fall victim to "phone hacking" or identity theft.
It's a tough choice between Apple and Google at the moment for many looking to buy phones. The reason I choose Apple at this time is because Apple develop hardware and OS and employ there only delivery system (iTunes). I can't wait to see if good head in this directions (they are currently in the process of making hackproof hardware/OS combos of both phones, laptops and tablet computers. I can't wait to see what else they deliver and if they can sway me over!

if you knew even a quarter of what you were talking about, you would know, as nathan has pointed out, that nokia are basically canning their symbian operating system and replacing it with windows.

I'd like to know why it's been replaced
Fwiw - I've had iPhones since they came out in the US (which makes it 3 iPhones), have never had an issue that wasn't cosmetic - my 3G had a small crack where you plug the cable in
Have had a HTC before that running Windows Mobile, which was good for the first 3 months until I needed to refresh the software.
Bennys right about the nokia 3xxx range. They were gamechangers much like the iPhone has become

Re: What Phone should i get
If you want a mobile just for a mobile the N6120classic can not be beat.
I can get reception almost anywhere I am, Including inside my venue, Where no1 else's phone works, iphone & all included.
Dead zone in N.S.W between Deniliquin & Conargo, I still have a signal. No other phone gets reception between there.
You want a phone for other stuffs? Buy a laptop.
You want a toy or gadget listen to the others.
My brother has had 4 phones in the past year including 2 iphones all of which have sh!t themselves. Value for money I think not.
p,s I am with Telstra billing not pre-paid
