Rough guesstimation but it all comes down to how desperate you are for a seat. In the twin table sitngo's you will most likely be going up a few regulars, and unless you shoving skills are good, you will be a little out of your depth. Also winner take all tourney which i hate.
In the rebuy satellite, you will find the similar regs, plus a lot of other players that might only go in for 1 or 2 rebuys. Will generate more seats, and you will have a chance to gain more chips from players at certain stage points during the tourney.
Horses for courses really.
Do you think Thurs game will be a shovefest early or late, could you play tight waiting for the preimum hands to pay off and then loosen up when the number dwindle down.
The Fri game could you outlast the shovers with big bankrolls, and limit yourself to 2 or 3 rebuys and a $30 addon in an attempt to win a seat, or set a higher number of rebuys.
I will be in a position to play both game this week, having meetings both days
Sit n go's are different than tourneys. You can sit around for a premium hand, but your stack will suffer as a result. You do have to get creative with ranging in a sit n go, and also play to pick up orphaned pots when someone misses. Usually you will find your super agro, who will chuck his chips in the middle and let it ride, you will have those that can think they outplay and will make moves at the expense of their stack, when shoving won't get the value that they would have gotten if they had played a few more marginals. E.g double up to original stack. But the big stack who is agro will have already knocked out a few so it won't dent his stack as much.
The rebuy, you can sit back wait for premiums, won't cost as much, can boost to your stack and then add on. Obviously you will get to a point where it will turn to shoving, but you have to get through the start of the rebuy where people are trying to get as much money onto their table as possible. You will get paid out on your big hands as long as you don't get sucked out on. At least with the sit n go you should hopefully see less of the more questionable plays.
Personally i would get on a cash table (blackjack) and try and grind out the extra money, if your going to spend 200 on tourneys, could always try and run taht up to 600 the first night, and another 600 the second night. And bang have your entry.
