There were two payout structures advertised:

1 - the usual with top 3 paid out as per DT news story, this was copied and pasted in this forum and on facebook.

2 - the top 5 payout structure via Tim's email and tournament lobby.

We are bound to pay out in favour of the players as this is a communication error on our part.
It is very clear to me that Tim went above and beyond in his communications and worked tirelessly during the tournament to rectify this communication issue and to ensure all players were fully aware of the correct payout structure.

I cannot praise Tim enough for his hard work and his passion in driving the Dream Team but this last final has left a sour taste in his mouth and he has stepped down from this project effective immediately. Our issues with the 888Poker payment processing did not help nor did the attitude of several players, some would use the word "ungrateful" as a descriptor of the attitudes of several qualifiers and DT prize recipients.

As of today Jamahl has been compensated to the maximum value of $5,000AU in cash and prizes. And all other winners have received the correct sum.

It is also almost a given that we will remove the Dream Team qualifying final and all associated promotions as of July 1st and stick primarily to score board rewards. This Dream Team promotion has not been successful and has caused issue after issues with players seeing as unfair or unequal.

I thank all players for their feedback and continued support, Tim Harry for his continued support and passion for providing players positive playing experiences and I assure you all that these allegations of collusion are now being investigated.

yep, especially when the winner has already shown us that he had less than $50 in his account before this win.

Chat log has been requested from 888 management.
Doubtful we can do much if any party is even found guilty as payouts have been completed.

I have spoken to Tim and he has informed me of who to focus on and that he issued at least six warnings to players, I am slightly disappointed that this has only come to my attention about now, but this is dire indeed that players feel they can behave in any non legit manner on a final table.

Sounds like the decision has been made, and im fine with what ever decison 888pl management make for the future of this tourney, i trust the staff implicently in this matter.

i just wanted to say thanks for the opportunity, i had no idea i had qualified for the free roll untill i recieved notification from tim, this email spelled everything out and i thought was pretty self explanitory and proffesional.

The fact that i had a 1/130 chance at 4k was a real bonus so i stayed home from my usual saturday night regular in the hope i might crack a cash, this wasnt to be with a 30th odd finish but i still enjoyed the event and oppourtunity

thanks again guys
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

I agree with Krunchie. Right from the start it was clear top 3 would be dreamteam and top 5 would get tickets to Grand Final. The email from Tim made it all very clear to everyone. I was very happy for the chance to be able to play off for a place in the dreamteam. I'm sorry to see that we may miss out on the chance to do it again.

What has how much money he has in his account got to do with whether he deserved to win or not? I always cash out if I win big! What is the point in winning the money if your not going to spend it?

He qualified for the event and managed to outlast 130.

Seems a few people have been upset just because they didn't win.
At the start of the season everyone had input to the event and no one seemed to say it was a bad idea until they didn't win. Maybe Garth can arrange an event that gives only people with a huge bankroll the chance to win.

for the record, i didn't even play the event. my point was, its a massive win for anyone (including myself if i ever won that), and i think he is going over the top a little bit.

i agree that its pretty confusing as there seems to have been two different payout structures listed, but the way he has gone about it has been pretty disrespectful and ungrateful imo.

tbh if i had won, i would have been wondering where the extra few hundred was too and i would have asked about it, but i think i would have gone about it differently.

I still think this event was the best way to Accommodate all states. QLD still has a greater advantage from what I can see.
Gave all players an equal chance of becoming a member of the dream team.

Unsure if the top 5 on the dream team scoreboard are really the best players in 888pl (Just seem to be able to play a lot more than the majority of players), but also unsure if the top 5 of the event are the best players either.(some terrible play from players not used to playing online or in longer events)

I still think the DT needs to be scoreboard based. That way you reward consistency over a season rather than just one tourney. The tricky part is making the scoring system even, and that is really tricky....

For the record, the top 5 of last season's DT scoreboard had 2 QLDers, 2 Vics & 1 from SA, so it would seem it is not as "QLD heavy" as people think....
