Harps, the tournament does not require a password. If you are faced with a "enter password" screen just hit enter and you should be able to register.

Let me know how you go with this.

Why are the guarantees so low?

Glyn Parsons wrote:Correct it remains a 2 max format for now. We had 81 runners to this event last time so i expect to see the same showing. Whilst its not a true HU Shootout event, it still makes for a fun and unique event on the schedule.

In regards to the antes, i will follow up on this and see what i can do.

Assuming it was a $10 buy-in last year as well, thats an $800+ prize pool - but just $300 is guaranteed this time.

Whilst I cant argue with the results of our last Online Champs, it was something that hadn't been run in almost a year and had a lot of excitement surrounded it as it was definitely something the players were after.

From now we will be introducing a series 4 times a year (they will open a new season), and we need to ensure that the excitement is still there and the Champs are well received before we re-evaluate the guarantees, which we will definitely do heading into the last two for the year.

Don't get me wrong, I always do my best to give you the maximum value for your dollar and higher GTD prize pools are an excellent way of doing this, we will use this series as an indicator of what will be to come in the future. I have no doubt in my mind that we will achieve fantastic results and as indicated by this thread plenty of you are interested and keen to play on the July weekend and your continued support will definitely see more dollars for you in the future

For whats it worth we are currently guaranteeing over $4500 for a low investment series, and we hope that plenty of players will be attracted to the Events and down the track we can adjust our guarantees accordingly.

With all due respect Glyn, there is no way you can gauge how a higher guarantee will work from a tourney that offers a lower guarantee.....

The higher gaurantee should (and I would say WILL) attract more players than the lower guarantee, so if you want to gauge where you are at, offer the higher guarantees first, then assess from there.....

10 hours is definitely, definitely the time frame i was after for the deepstack. This is pretty standard in an event of this type and I'm happy with how it plays out. It is definitely an adjustment to a turbo online structure or what you may be use to in a live venue environment.

I would have to disagree for the reason that there were only around 100 players [correct me if I'm wrong] and it went well over 12 hours, therefore, if there had of been 200 or 300 players, that would have meant it went all night?

For a total prize pool of just over $1K [$11 Buy-in from memory], I don't think it was worth it but that is only my opinion.

Anyway, hopefully the introduction of antes should make it a better time structure. :D

In reference to HU Event, thanks for clearing that up and it now makes sense as to why the 2 chips leaders were up against each other, but it still sucks that 888 can't fix this.

Cheers

Jav it's the blind structure that dictates how long a tournament will run for, NOT the amount of runners. That's why a regular pub tournament with 100 runners will still fit within a 4-5 hour timeframe, just like a tournament with 30 runners will. Sure there might be small differences, but it certainly won't mean that it runs all night.
Riskers gamble, experts calculate.

I appreciate the feedback Jo, and whilst i completely understand that a Higher GTD prize pool will attract runners, the bottom line is we are still developing the perfect schedule and gauging feedback from players will help us do that. This series will only evolve and get bigger each season, and I look forward to developing it with you all.
