Re: AFL 2011
I can't stand the idea of a "final 8", but the socialists at AFL house will probably love the idea of extending it to a top 10. After all, they turned up for at least 10 games a season, why should they be denied the chance to play "finals"???. The fact they only fielded half a team for the rest of the season, through poor selection and draft practices, bad player management etc, should not deny the boys who did try that "day in september"
"Please, my Leftie friends. On no possible definition does cutting someone’s tax rate constitutute ‘giving’ them money."

Re: AFL 2011
i like having two conferences based on the previous years ladder positions.
1st, 3rd, 5th etc in conference A
2nd, 4th, 6th etc in conference B
Each group plays teams in the same group twice, and in the other group once. This will make for a slightly longer 25 game season (dump the NAB cup) and the top four from each conference at seasons end will make the finals.
That means that all participants in the finals have played exactly the same teams as each other.

Re: AFL 2011
does this season feel heaps longer than the previous seasons already?
maybe its just because there have been some unusual thrashings in the past few weeks, but it feels like it should be finals time already
how many weeks is the season going to be next year?
will they have more than 1 bye per team? or just go back to the split round format?
