not sure where i will play now :(

Mate, to best of our knowledge the area that poker is played in wasn't damaged. Been trying to contact Venue Manager for last few days but as im sure you can imagine he is fairly busy. All looks good for a phone call tomorrow, but the general feeling is poker will continue!!!

Once i know ill let all the riverland and waikerie hotel motel players know what is happening

matty you are correct it wasnt badly damaged but it was damaged

mainly smoke and water damage particularly in the pokies ( no harm there :D ), which is not far from the area we usually play poker, so i guess it just depends on how bad the smell is etc.

the local paper says that they hope to be operational in 2 weeks, obviously without the drivethrough and cafe which was lost.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Ok started playing a couple of years ago. My husband had started playing about 2 years prior to me and really played every then NPL game he could. He had been on at me for ages to play and I had resisted until one day when he said " You only don't want to play because you know you cant beat me" it was then I decided to give it a try ( thought I would play a couple of games beat him and that would be it  ). I had never seen Texas hold em prior to this so NPL was my first introduction to the game ( I had played draw poker as a kid and video poker at a Greek cafe as a teenager so knew the hand rankings well). My first venue was the All seasons as working late afternoons into the night I could not play any other day. Luck boxed my first full season and won the venue and thought I was the best player ever  .The venue was ok but the thing that kept me going was the wonderful Tc's who really made me feel welcome and always helped me. Majority of players were great too and most were more than happy to give me tips and help me learn the finer points of the game.

The all seasons game ended after that season and since then we have had a variety of venues. Played for a while at the Schweppes center which was a great venue. Great prizes ensured good player numbers so excellent points on offer, deep stack game which I loved and finally plenty of room. It was this venue which helped me crack the top 5 in the state so fond memories here. Unfortunately this venue also closed despite the large numbers of players it attracted.

Now we have a few venues to choose from but I have now found my all time favorite. The Golden Square pub on a Thursday night!. Numbers are still small ( around 40) but the poker room is just right for this amount of people. Wonderful meals, friendly staff, clean and bright with a happy atmosphere and to top it all off poker run in a professional manner. What more could a girl ask for?
