trip report. would be interesting to hear about how you went. were you chip leader for most of the time? or did you have to grind a stack up? did you play against any notables? etc etc

Played with tony hacham sitting next to me on my left for about an hour, talk about tough going. it was good having a chat to him and wathing him go to work on the table. apart from winning that was obviously the other highlight for me.

went for the most part of the tourny with quite a healthy stack around 50-70% above chip average. wouldnt really say i was running well. i just played quite aggressivly. floating a lot of flops in position and 3 and 4 betting quite a lot of the time pre flop. obviously playing 6 handed you have to be a bit more creativie with your play rather then waiting for monster hands all day.

biggest hand of the day was when we were down to 9 players i had around 400k behind. 4 on my table. i had been botton raising 80% of the time roughly. so i did the standard 2.5 xBB to 12.5k. small bling folded and big blind 3 bet to 26k. now im holding 78 off obviously a crappy hand but this guy had been playing quite aggressivly also throughout the day and because i had been botton raising so often i figured that he could be 3 betting with a pretty wide range. with the majority of his range i am only 60/40% behind so for an extra 13.5 k into a roughly 50k pot i am getting nearly 4 to 1 on a call with position so i call. flop comes out jack, 9,7, all clubs. Villan continuates 28k. so i have bottom pair, gut shot and flush draw (straight flush draw). so my thinking here is that a lot of the time im already in front on this board but i would really be guessing. so i just call to reavaluate on the turn depending on how he plays it. anyway on the turn 10 hits so i hit my straight. villan checks so i fire out roughly 100k for memory. he instantly shoves for an extra 110k . i tank for about 2 or 3 minutes and decided that it didnt make any sense for him to have the flush unless it was the stone cold nuts. so i figured it was either going to be a chop or i had him crushed. and im still getting like 4 to 1 to call and i think im right in this decision more times then not. anyway he roles over king jack hearts and i ship the pot. then he goes on to hammer my play and how could i call pre flop yadda yadda. tryed explaining my thought proccess to him and the math behind the call etc but wouldnt have it, so f*** him haha i won. so i went to the final table with a monster stack and didnt look back from there.

oh called a guy who three barrelled im holding queen high no draw the whole way and took it down. soul read haha
