does 888pl online need a revamp.

Postby sunbury2 » Mon Nov 21, 2011 9:30 pm

I have to admit I haven't been online for a while, but went on there today to have a look and met with the following.
888pl JMACK 8 players
888pl Feature 2 players (lasted 26 mins)
888pl Daily Event 2 players (lasted 23 mins)
888pl Bionic Cubed 9 players

Seriously if 888pl was getting these numbers at venues then they would be closed down.
If 888 are to be alligned to 888pl then surely something needs to be down to encourage players to play.
I have previously posted on here ideas that should generate continued play each week, but no ideas seem to have been implemented and no changes have been made to a system that is obviously not working.

Maybe if anyone else has any ideas, it may generate my players

Sorry to reply to my own post, but surely with only the top 2 being paid if less than 27 players, is a little top heavy!!!

Completely standard for all online tournaments, using the top 10% rule.

Top heavy is never a payout structure I'll complain about.

i completely agree that the whole online setup needs to be revamped, it has pretty much died.

When it was an avenue to qualifying to larger tourneys (even if it was a state final, not the Grand Final or Main Event or whatever) it was awesome.

It got me playing, and a stack of others at my venues too. We all kept playing venues too.

I think returning to this thinking would be a good start.

This is a great idea. I used to use the online as a way of qualifying while still playing in venue knowing that between the two I would qualify for the state finals.

i think it should be totally geared around getting people into the main event, i.e daily satellites into a weekly tourney etc.

How about 1 or 2 on-line tourney's a week that the winner qualifies into the Monthly Winner's Final?? This still feeds people towards the Main Event, but will also generate a couple of decent on-line tourney's per week. Make it a $5 - $10 buy-in, and you might have a real winner.

I would definitely love the JMACK GRIND to be this sort of event, not every night, but an event that people feel gives them a chance to qualify for something bigger....

I also think that the fact that the daylight savings issue hasn't been fixed isn't helping, numbers were better when the games were an hour later....

These days with top 10 in venue qualifying for State Finals, it definitely seems time to bring back the on-line qualifying avenue. Also, we need to be promoting 888 to the APL player base. These guys have previously been pointed towards FullTilt, so now is the perfect time to point them to 888, but we need decent incentives on-line to point them to.....
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

Most of these points and others were covered in another thread 'Nightly Games numbers dropping'
