Harris, Johnson, Marsh, Watson and Cummins all unavailable for the first test. This will make it one hell of a contest, actually a little bit more excited about this one now

Guess Ponting will get a game then.

He really needs to go if we're to be any chance for the ashes.

i think ponting should get a farewell test, the second test against new zealand is in hobart too.

I think this is a perfect opportunity to get warner into the team as well, his reputation has risen a whole lot since he scored a double for australia a a month or so ago.

although i think he should have gone too, i think siddle will keep his place, and copeland will come into the team.

my first test team:

Warner, Hughes, Khawaja, Ponting, Clarke, Hussey, Haddin (although i think wade should get a go he wont), Siddle, Cummins, Copeland, Lyon.

That tail looks pretty long without johnson in there though.

Next years ashes team:
Warner, Hughes, Marsh, Clarke, Watson, Khawaja, Wade, Johnson/Copeland, Cummins, Harris, Lyon

warner has scored another half century for Australia A. I think he should definitely come in to replace watson

Ponting should be in the side as long as he wants.
Christ, Hussey should be talked about more than Punter.

hussey did get man of the match in every match in srilanka, whilst ponting has made 1 half century in 18 innings or something like that.

as good as he has been, form should count for something.

cummins has been ruled out as well

so harris, cummins, johnson, watson and marsh all out.

bollinger has injury concerns as well

siddle will surely play now, as well as copeland, and then it will be down to another young quick, probably pattinson or someone.

going to make for an interesting test series then

With Warner, Hughes and Khawaja at the top of the order. We are either going to be 0/150 at lunch Or 3/20 in the 5th over.
