I am sorry, but I have not frequented or commented in the forums for quite some time, just needed some time off to get life in order again.. having failed to do so, I thought I would just leap in again and forgo the organisation of said life. LOL

I just wanted to say, anytime any other brand joins Full House group, that is exciting for so many reasons: my main reason of thinking is because it is growth in the game/sport that we truly love and have passion about.

Having said that, I can actually understand the point that Harps and Hagar are making.

It really isn't our "business" that Full House has accepted another brand into the fold, however, it would be "nice" to see an announcement informing us that this is the case.

There are a few reasons why I feel this does affect us as players:
1. It opens a few more venues we might not frequent due to our allegiance to 888pl, APL, or whatever brand of poker we play. Full House Group is 888pl, 888pl is where my personal allegiance lay, however that has wavered somewhat now with the combination of 888pl and APL. (Having said that, I am still yet to play an APL game.. .. )

2. It kinda sorta does impact on the "State Finals".. It does add extra players, I go along to the finals expecting about 150-180 players, this will increase that number.

Sorry Garth, I am not intending to inflame you, I just wanted to put another point of view in. Having said that, it does not personally infuriate/bother me that not every little announcement is made, I understand that announcements are made when and if you or the Full House Group deem them necessary.

Having said that also, IF 888pl/APL were to go and sign a heap of new venues, as a player, I would WANT a very very small song and dance, new venue.. HELLS YEAH!! I am always excited to hear that there are new venues to play at.

Also having said that, it is exciting to hear that another group has joined.. Lets hope they feel welcome.. :)

Harps, just be thankful that the APL acquisition didn't reduce your prize pool as much as it did ours.

If I was over there, and 60 more people were in my SF, I wouldn't care less.

Like you JJ, I have have had other things in my life too and haven't had much time for writing on the forum, although I do have a look every now and then to try and keep up with what's happening.

I think that it will be good in the long run that Pub Poker have now become a part of the Full House Group as this will add more venues and more players to compete with.

I would have thought that an announcement would have been made about it a bit sooner and not wait until just over a week prior to the State Finals. I understand why they are playing the State Finals - good will gesture - and hope that their qualifiers feel welcome and have a great day along with all the APL and 888PL players.

As a player that has qualified for the State Finals, I would HOPE that all players who are playing in a State Final are aware of the rules including how to deal and what antes are. I noted at the last State Final when APL joined in they didn't now what antes were and were not make aware of that format.

My main concern is that the level of play for a State Final will turn out to be a learners game - ie. instead of being able to concentrate on your own play, you will have to be helping out other players with the rules and how to deal and telling them what antes are.

If this is all done beforehand by the venues that these new players attend, all should be good.

I don't want to see the State Final become less than what it should be and hope that this does not happen. It is a shame that Pub Poker players don't have a season to get used to Full House rules before they play a major event.

Oh well, I hope everyone enjoys the State Final in Vic and good luck all.

PS - This type of thread always seems to come up when Full House Group don't keep their members informed of what is happening. It is a shame that we, as members, aren't considered as being important enough to keep us in the loop of what's going on in a league that we support. I'm not talking about telling the members all the business strategies etc. just what is happening on the player side of things as these things do affect the players/members.
Cheers

Just wanted to make it clear i do not expect to be informed of whats going on with FHG and their business dealings, i just think Harps had a reasonable question that deserved a reasonable answer (which i think was given). I would say that most on here feel as though they are a part of a good poker community and like any community like to stay up to date with whats new and going on.

You're making quite an assumption about the level of players coming in.

Sure, cutting to the left, and little "by-laws" like that would need to be helped with - but surely how to deal, and antes are reasonably similar.

Also - there are many people playing 888PL who don't know what the hell antes are.

I agree - But I just don't see not being told as a negative thing

One bit.

Okay every one,
1st off I did not complain about Pub Poker becoming apart of FHG. I was asking a few questions

If I do have a problem it is with the lack of information given to us from the top & the snide remarks that I cop from others, When asking legit questions that do affect this leagues players.

Otherwise thanks for the responses.

I do see one very important issue here. If PP are now part of FHG, and will be incorporated into the State Finals, I think FHG were obliged to tell their players straight away (Jan 1st) as now the existing player base are at a disadvantage in PP venues. They have missed the first 2 weeks in those venues to try and qualify for the next State Finals!!

I know you guys have been busy, and usually your communication is really good, but this one was missed. All it would have taken was a post on Facebook or something....
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!
