As of December 1st FHG also purchased back several APL franchise regions within Victoria, those regions also score an additional 20 State Champs entries per quarter. Does that impact things?

We also give away 10 seats at selected special events within each state.

Every Special Event generates 1 or 2 additional qualifiers, of which we have grown our special events by 110% quarter to quarter.

Do we need to make an announcement to the entire state or network when we run these events or qualify players to the State Champs beyond the scoreboard methods?

There was no need to announce the partnership with Pub Poker - all focus was to be on the Golden Ticket promotion and what occurs therein.

Pub Poker is now under the umberalla of poker brands operated by FHG;these players are well aware of this and what it means for them. It does not affect the nightly events, promotions or qualification for 888PL or APL players.

If we didn't make an announcement in the news story, not one player from 888PL or APL (who does not play Pub Poker) would have been none the wiser.

Instead the 150 or so regular Pub Poker finalists who are used to competing in a 100 strong field for a $15,000 tournament now share it with 450 odd other players for their share of $25,000.

If PP are now part of FHG, and will be incorporated into the State Finals, I think FHG were obliged to tell their players straight away (Jan 1st) as now the existing player base are at a disadvantage in PP venues. I know you guys have been busy, and usually your communication is really good, but this one was missed. All it would have taken was a post on Facebook or something....

Sorry Jo - this post is compeletly lost on me; all Pub Poker players have been aware of the partnership since December.

Sure, cutting to the left, and little "by-laws" like that would need to be helped with - but surely how to deal, and antes are reasonably similar.

Also - there are many people playing 888PL who don't know what the hell antes are.

The level of players is the least of worries mate, but Pub Poker players don't deal in their games (as advised by Garth) and I doubt that they have antes either. It will make a lot more work for the TD's on the day explaining to them. In Vic 888pl have antes in all the freeroll tourneys including state finals, so we should all know what they are.

Not a problem for us, but it could be for them and the directors on the day if they aren't brought up to date beforehand. As I said before, I hope this will be the case for eveyone's benefit.

Not complaining, just sharing my point of view.

No probs Garth, I see you were busy typing! My point was that existing 888pl/APL players have lost the opportunity to play PP venues for the first 2 weeks of January as another avenue to qualify for the same State Finals. That is why I thought it important to let them know as soon as it was available....

I understand now.
It's 24 events (we run 220 APL and 888PL events in Vic) and the majority of pub poker venues are niche smaller venues. Most events operate off one or two tables with dealers.

It attracts a different type of player and is a completely different format to what you experience at 888PL and APL.

There is actually very minimal crossover between Pub Poker players and APL/888PL players. This will change in time but we are not in a place to cross promote just yet.

Finally - I return to the Golden Ticket promotion - we have spent a lot of time, resources, energy and money on this promotion; we wanted the best possible ROI on this promotion. So all stories, player messages and announcements will be about the golden ticket promotion.

Notice I haven't even been drumming up talk about the Aussie Millions - and this year we have over 12 players participating, let alone those regs who qualified through crown or 888Poker. I even had to cancel all of our Aussie Millions satellites and promos - all focus on the golden ticket.

I don't know how many more times I need to say it.

Yeah, I understand that your focus has been with the Golden Ticket promo (and with good reason).
