Footy Tipping 2012 (Paid Competition)

Sent everyone the following email, just doubling up here:

Hi All,

Thanks for joining the footy tipping competition. I just wanted to send you all details of the rules and payment options.

The competition will be run over the 23 rounds of the regular season. The cost to play is $2 per round ($46 total). Payment must be received before the start of Round 10 at the latest.

The prize-pool will be split between a weekly jackpot prize-pool and a main, end-of-season prize-pool.

MAIN PRIZE-POOL
Based on 6 members the end-of-season prize-pool totals $138. 2 places will be paid as follows:
1st - $92 (66%)
2nd - $46 (33%)

One point is awarded for each correct tip. In the case of two or more tippers finishing on an equal number of points, the person with the lowest total margin will be deemed the winner or place-getter as the case may be.

As some people did not get a chance to select a margin in round 1, the margin will be the sum of margins from round 2-23.

WEEKLY PRIZE-POOL
Each round there will be a $6 prize for anyone who tips all matches in the round correctly. In the case of a draw, every player receives a correct tip. If no one has a perfect tipping round, the prize will be carried forward or "jackpot" till the next round. If more than one person has a perfect tipping round, the prize-pool will be split evenly between all tippers. Margin WILL NOT be considered for the purposes of the weekly prize.

Any unclaimed portion of the weekly prize-pool at the end of round 23 will be added to the main prize-pool and split among the winner and runner-up in the proportions outlined above (66%/33%)

You may transfer the $46 by bank transfer. The account details are:

Once payment is received, I will update your status on the FootyTips site. While I think the rules/prize-pool distribution is fair, if you want to recommend a new rule or a rule change, please email me and I will put the rule change/suggestion to the group for discussion and a vote. I will write a "weekly wrap" on the forum.
