Tell me the last team to make the finals for the first time and win a flag, I can't think of one.

I'm pretty sure if Gee got to the 2nd week of finals and could pick a side to play, they would pick Adl even at AAMI over any other side, IMO.

I think if Adl can make a Prelim that would be as high as you can expect from them as Adl aren't a Top4 side, but the draw will most likely mean they will finish Top4.

Even though Adl has the softest draw, it's still no guarantee for them to make the Top4 as players may start to tire and/or get injured from a long season as Adl were up and going a lot earlier than many other sides.

Adl have lost 3 games so far (Haw, Coll & Nth). Adl beat Syd in Syd (awesome win), Gee & St.K @ AAMI and haven't played WC or Ess yet. Every other side they've beaten is out of the Top8.

If I was an Adl supporter, the best I would be hoping for is to make Top4 and to win a final, anything more than that is just unrealistic.

What do you mean make the finals for the first time? Geelong have made finals before.

I'm sure they might choose Adelaide at AAMI, though losing by ten goals last time they played here (this year) wouldn't really give them a great deal of confidence.

You can't look at last year too much with this team - they are playing differently. They have lost games they wouldn't have lost last year.

Most teams with similar records would have the same breakdown of who they have beaten. I fail to see how that is a point to be honest.

I'm obviously talking about the current playing group. Only a handful would've played in finals before with little success.

You can't compare Finals to Home & Away games. Rich beat Haw by 10+ goals at the MCG, that means nothing. benny the cunt mentioned it in an earlier post that he wouldn't like to play against Gee or Haw in 2nd week of finals, why, cause they know how to WIN finals.

I couldn't agree more, I actually tipped them to do really well last year and copped a hammering for it. I was one of the first to tip them to make the Top4 before the season started (and put my hard earned on them) and even if they finish on Top, I still don't see them any chance of winning the GF cause experience in finals is everything. Tell me the last team with no finals experience win a flag?

Really, you haven't beaten the 2 flag favourites and haven't played the 3rd or 5th fav and only beaten the 4th fav.

Scott Thompson would have more votes than Paddy Dangerfield.

Yeah, you're probably right, it's just that Dangerfield seems more flashy.

That's why we're where we are on the ladder.

If we had beaten all those teams - we'd be on top.

In fact it's a LOT of his work that even has this list where it is for Sanderson to move upwards with.
